• Hi everyone,

As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Thanks for your patience and support!

Corbin needs '08-'09 (Hollister, CA)

If you live near Hollister, CA and can load your bike to Corbin for a few days, they are interested in modifying their '06 - '07 seat to fit the '08-'09 model. Contact them and ask for Greg or Sergio. Who knows, maybe they'll make you a great deal in return.

Would love to hear the conversation you had with either Greg or Sergio regarding the TE610 seat. I live very close to the Corbin Factory in Hollister, figured it might be a fairly cheap way to get an upgraded seat by offering my bike for them to engineer a newer model for their lineup. I sort of got blown off after the receptionist spoke to Greg, Sergio was out for the day. She did ask me to leave voicemail for Greg which I did and heard nothing back so far. Will let you know what transpires.

Back in 2006 I was told to bring my Honda CRF450X down so they could make a seat for that model. They were going to have my bike for a week and I was to receive a free seat. I put in for a day off work and on the day before I was scheduled to drive down there - approximately 2.5 hours - I called to make sure we were still on and was transferred to some voice mail, and that person didn't call me back.
The next day I called again and was finally told that they got someone who lived closer to bring in their bike a few days ago and they didn't need mine anymore. I'm like WTF - were you just going to let me drive down there and then tell me?
I felt I was screwed over by them getting another person after they promised to use my bike and then by not having the nuts to call me and let me know they didn't need mine anymore. I wasted a vacation day to drive down there for nothing.
I sent off a few emails to the company about how I felt I wasn't treated fairly and they offered my a free bottle of vinyl dressing for my trouble and I said no thanks. Finally I got an email from someone higher up that read my email and also felt I wasn't dealt with and offered me a new seat for $300 delivered - I accepted.
Be careful if they tell you they want to use your bike, as I'm living proof that it doesn't always turn out that way.

fair warning......

You got off light..........

I'm very biased, but I wouldn't even take the free seat if it were offered. At least no situation where they had anything of mine out of my sight........

They made a mistake with their customer service with me, but I do like their seats. At least one person tried to make it better.
