• Hi everyone,

As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Thanks for your patience and support!

Cool thing my daughter said to me this weekend...

Borrowed a quad and took my 8 year old daughter out to play in the snow. She LOVED it and had a blast. Did about 5 hours and 30 miles, had a blast. On the way home she hits me and said "you get to do this all the time" :D This is my last of three kids and the other two never really seemed to take to riding. This one is all over it. Fun times ahead i'm sure.

this was a real fun day and Jakes first outing since crashing himself out this last summer. Jake is doing great and brought both quads out for us to play on (Thanks Jake!!!) Jake is feeling great and is back in the saddle

We had a great time busting through the snow covered woods huligan style while our passengers throw snowballs from the backs of the quads. Rolling snowball fight all day. Super fun.

Here is Jakes nephew getting ready for more.

Braaap, that was a fun day! It was so good to be out and about again. Even if it was on a Quad.

I will get my pictures and one video of Kelly climbing a hill. I wish we would have had gopro's on for the free for all through the snowy trees. Great stuff.

I was totally wiped out last night though, that after not much action for 3 months had me asleep by 7:30. Really sore today!

Later,

Very cool K and Jake. Having fun with the kids is what it's all about. I'm so old now I'm having fun with the grandkids :oldman:. I swear I think at 53 they are what keeps me feeling younger than my years. Cool report guys.

Cool kids - I have a 4 yo I've been thinking about getting out on a quad - this has convinced me to do it (just wish we had great riding areas like that locally....)

You guys do live in a beautiful part of the world, albeit cold in winter.
Do not go soft on us with these quads now !

Never. I ride quads about once every 2 years when we hit the sand or snow on a friends. Although I must admit having a hoot packing my daughter and I would do it more if I owned one.

Awesome post dude! My (almost) 5 year old shows very little interest today, but I'm sure once he see's his buddies out there having fun without him it'll surely light a fire!

And I dig the quadtard pride

Although I do keep my bad habits out of the woods :D

For sure. I'm sure you'll enjoy it as much as she does. There's something special about kids on bikes that just warms my heart.

On a marginally related note, I came across this image from Life magazine today. Two Indians on Daytona Beach in 1948.
