  • Hi everyone,

As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Thanks for your patience and support!

125-200cc converting wr ignition to cr ignition questions

I located a stator /flywheel from a 2001 CR125 for my WR .I know there was a post about timing(I'll eventually find it),but trying to find out where to mount the CDI. My '07 WR doesn't have threaded holes on the front frame tube and was wondering how anyone else may have mounted theirs. I was thinking of drilling and tapping the two 6mm holes in frame but don't if this would jeopardize frame integrity?
THANX

There was a thread on this . I think it was MattR that posted .
On my 08 I put mine under the seat near the tank - from memory it fits well there . Zip tied rubber mount to frames.

The 01 wiring harness from the stator is pretty short. I would look into adding some length and placing it where rockdancer suggests. Husky has a tool for indexing the cases for your timing mark. I have one and if you can't get one let me know. Pretty cheap tool.

Many Thanx...I don't know if the pics were pulled or this old ass computer can't open it (where it showed the under seat mount)...at least I have a direction to follow...

I didn't have a pic of it fitted - but it was secure and out of the way
The rubber band around it had holes and I secured it at both sides so it was flat and suspended in air

I have a pic of the plate where the bolt fixing washers were marked with a pen if that of any help
