    As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

    When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

    Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

    Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

    Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

FE/FC Convert FE350 to FE350s?

Anyone look at installing the necessary parts to convert a US FE350 to a FE350s?
I'm considering buying a Sicass kit, but I like the look of the stock S components.
I hear that most of the wiring is already in place, and looking over the manuals of both, seems to be about 10-12 parts that I would need to get which would cost ~$500.

Not looking to do this immediately, since I'd need new tires and won't be getting those for another 6 months, but would like to bike the S parts over that time and be ready to convert my title over.

Realize I could of just bought an S to start, unfortunately I didn't. I really love riding this bike too much and don't want to have to trailer it to be able to ride it.

Sometimes you can save alot of money buying the off road model then converting it. The local dealer sells a ton of Sicass kits, they seem pretty good. Did yours not come with a motorcycle title?
 
Bike is titled as 'Off-Road' per the VIN (I believe it's the 4th digit - S for 'Off-Road')
I live in Nevada so all I need is turning indicators, brake indicator, mirrors, horn and DOT tires.
Steering lock would be nice, but not needed.
Very easy to convert in Nevada, basically add needed parts, have Dealer do VIN inspection, then off to the DMV. Title will have RECONSTRUCTED on it.
 
I added a Acerbis break/tailight combo, rear master cylinder switch, mirror,horn. liscence and insurance and thats all I need in Illinois. Gearing is no where near tall enough for much road riding that is the problem. But I just needed it for enduros and dual sports which have limited roads.
 
Same here. My 2014 fe501 is plated in illinois. The brake light is already a running/ brake light so no need to change it out. Enduro engineering rear pressure switch plugs directly into harness under the seat and you now have a brake light. Add a mirror and horn and you're done. Here, turn signals aren't required but if they are in your state, you'd need to add those. Honestly, turn signals are temporary if you ride offroad since it'll be, ride break fix.
 
We have the Sickass kit on 2014 FE250 and went on easy and personally performs/looks better then a stocker. Kit was $400 with flush LED options and connected to the headlight for power. Well worth it.
 
Thanks everyone.. I went to my local dealer yesterday and he let me pull the seat off a 350s and look around. He tried to tell me the bike couldn't be converted easily. I talked to the parts manager, he said they won't guarantee getting the parts we think we need will make everything work (which I figured). I'm going to get the Sicass kit and be done with it.
I did find some removable lights from http://clicknride.com.au/ . I go to AUS every quarter and a buddy of mine had them on his ride. They are pretty nice. Going with the flush mount in the rear so won't get removables.
