• Hi everyone,

As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Thanks for your patience and support!

constantly blinking neutral light

Took my husky in for 1500 mile service. Picked it up today. Rolled it off back of truck. Drove up driveway to the garage. Neutral light constantly blinking in gear... why? Not frantically blinkin, just steady blink that doesn't stop...

I am kind of extremely pissed off. considering it never did this before...

I have heard that is a trouble code and can be read using ibeat. I need to search the manuals and get back with more info.

Yeap, ECU is mad and needs to be checked with the IBeat. They must have failed to properly connect something. That's my guess.

Tried all the remedies on mine. It started when I did the p/u installation. I still can´t get used to the green light blinking but haven´t got iBeat, so can´t do much about it. Just hope that someone comes up with an idea.

Just found this on another Husky forum:

"I just bought the iBeat software to make this blinking neutral light stop blinking before I throw my bike off a bridge. So, I fixed it and now I don't want this iBeat anymore. If anyone thinks it could be beneficial to them to have one or knows someone who does....please let me know."

He´s sold it now ... but it seems to have worked. So we just need someone with iBeat and a laptop.

i had a similar problem and ordered a new water temp switch. it sorted it. cheap part and easy switch. might be worth a punt? you could try disconnecting it and cleaning it before you order a new part. also try disconnecting & reconnecting battery before all this...

The flashing neutral light indicates a stored fault in the ECU, it's not a code that can be interrogated so you need to plug it in to Ibeat to clear the fault code (and potentially fix the fault if the code comes back!).

Take the bike back to the same shop or maybe just put a piece of black electrical tape over the light?

I tried disconnecting the battery and will now try the temp switch. The flashing is irregular ... as if it´s trying to tell me something. Disconcerting, but haven´t found an iBeat anywhere near here yet.

i'm in the uk and dealers here don't seem to have ibeat so was easier and cheaper for me to try the water temp switch. does it blink a few times then stop, then start again?

Two short ... one long. It must mean something. Maybe it´s in pain.

continuous.

took the bike back in to the servicing place this morning. Hope they call back soon. was trying to get it out to a dual sport meetup here in PA (though I am not sure I will make that either considering I got a week to obtain a new rear tire and mount the damn thing...). http://www.rorr.org/RORR/Dual_Sport_Ride.html

Mine blinked a simlar code (cant recall for sure) and it was the powerup resistor not making contact, therefore showing a disconnected O2 sensor. I had copied someones idea of pushing the resistor into the open connector and it came loose. Cam.

Yes, check that resistor on the O2 sensor cable. My dealer said he had a bad one. Cheap easy fix if that is it. It was preventing hm from running iBeat on my 2012 TE310 after he did they power up.

I saw that. I´d have to install Bootcamp on my Mac AND purchase Windows. Not really worth it.

Buy an old cheap netbook or laptop running XP or earlier to run your iBeat. You'll be happy you did so not dependant on dealer sevice and stop wasting money replacing parts that didn't need to be.

purchasing software: lol. well, except the ibeat stuff, no where to find that i bet...

anyway, no call from the dealer/service center yet. I am really hoping they do not plan on charging me because I do not plan on paying.
