• Husqvarna Motorcycles Made In Sweden - About 1988 and older

  • Hi everyone,

As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Thanks for your patience and support!

Has anybody ever cross referenced CR250 connecting rod dimensions which may match other vintage rods?

I need to get the dimensions of the 1978 (2065) and 1981 (2079) rods and see if I can find an existing wiesco, carrillo, ect rod.

I need big end bore, little end bore, BE and LE widths. Plus the eye to eye. This can be measured by dividing BE and LE bores by half. And adding the distance between the the the two bores at their closest points.

So If anyone has one of these rods I could do the checking to see if there is any options available.

Also, if anyone wants me to research their particular rod, I can do that if you send me your own rod dimesions.

I would appreciate any help.

I believe Huskydogg has some NOS rods. PM him on here if he doesn't chime in. I believe there is a KTM rod that is very close when I looked a few years ago. I found a Kawi rod to replace the one in my 500.

Which Kaw rod worked on which 500 ? I have an '84 CR 500 . Were there any mods that had to be done to get it to work ? Thanks Husq.fleet .

KX 500 works, same length and upper pin bore dia. Lower pin is larger so crank cheeks have to be bored out. Mine has only been at the machine shop for two years now, waiting patiently-sorta..... Check with Steve, Huskydoggg for new.
