  • Hi everyone,

As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Thanks for your patience and support!

250-500cc Con rod

Husqvarna
A Class
I had a lower rod bearing fail in a 1994 wxe 250 and am having a hard time finding a replacement rod kit would anyone know of cross overs from different years or makes

Have you installed yet or is it a maybe fit ?
I compared all the measurements and they are exactly the same there is only a slight difference in the length of the crank pin and by compared I mean measured 3 times with two calipers and all the same so I'm pretty confident it will fit

It sounds promising.

What is the situation with the KTM con rod? Is it fit on the Husky Crankshaft already without problem ?

Still waiting for the parts to show up should know this week hopefully... missing my ride time :(

Ok rod kit finally showed up and crank is back together with only one very minor mod the crank pin in the kit was around 1.7mm longer nothing the lathe couldnt fix though. Hope this helps anyone with the same problem

Hi,
is that Rod the: Pro-X KTM SX 2000-2002
Part No. Pro-X. 03.6320 ?

Are the Big/Small end bearings that come with the rod able to be Used,
without modification?

How is the bike running now with the rod?
Cheers

yeah that is the part # the only thing that had to be modified was the crank pin the ktm one is is a bit longer but the bearings are the same

haven't had much time to ride lately but been on a few runs and it's running fine

Cool.
Looks like you found the solution to many peoples problem,
Finding a rod kit for one of these bikes.
