  • Hi everyone,

As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Thanks for your patience and support!

250-500cc cnc lowering link wr 360

juicy, those are some crazy spring rates. Stock rear spring on my 300 was 5.4Kg, I replaced it with 5.0Kg because I weigh @ 80Kg ready to ride. You can calculate proper spring rates on the RaceTech site, but I think the err on they stiff side.

Yeah thats what i thought, maybe the wp spring labled 7nm reacts differently.
Im 80kg with gear on and 2 full english brekfasts in me +nag full of spares.
So 5kg spring is your sag &4"?

Berg fe400 it was on a pds bike but the coils didnt get closer.
Ahh well will just find a 5kg boinger an see how much that helps.

Sorry juicypips hijacked your ancient thread.

Yes, with 5Kg spring on the 300 and @ 8mm of preload I get @ 40mm static/105mm rider sag, 165 seems to want less preload or maybe less spring, so maybe 360 needs more spring ??
This weekend I'm swapping a Yammy Ti spring onto the 300. I think it's a stock spring from a yz250, so according to Yammy it's 4.8Kg. It weighs at least 1/2 as much as the stock spring, but seemed to be too much spring for the 165.

So these are the linkages from the WR360s back end although they look standard i have no way of knowing

Heres the shock,a lot of pre load yet still soft, even when the pre load was completely removed it did not alter the length of he shock ,as i suspected. Is it possible to change the spring to one for my weight that would be shorter, also if i put on a shorter spring, will this reduce the shock length, or will it remain the same

Read my thread about eye to eye length of the linkage that will tell you if its std or not.
Yes you can get stiffer springs as for shorter probably.
Adjusting preload is all well and good if the springs the correct rate.
