  • Hi everyone,

As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Thanks for your patience and support!

I think I read that Honda steels are the same if you wanted to only replace the warped steel plates and Honda frictions will fit but are slightly thicker. You can lay the steels on a piece of glass and find the warped ones.

Ahh Doug you're like old faithful can always count on ya! Seems genuine from motosportz or couple other places is around $100us not sure if that included springs. Some other aftermarkets were similar price inc springs. Just being a tightarse n seeing if could get em cheaper thru Honda :) was just gonna replace the lot n see if that cures prob otherwise will file clutch basket fingers down as they're slightly grooved. Figured it was due for fibres n steels @225hrs anyway n wouldn't hurt to have spares on hand. If can't get the lot thru Honda I'll just get proper husky kit as freight will kill me otherwise

It been a while, but I used some plates for a Honda. For the life of me, I can't remember the brand and I don't think I replaced the steels. However, the clutch felt better and less drag.

I bought new plates for my '08 WR250 about 6 months ago. I did a cross reference and my WR clutch was the same as a bunch of the early 2000's Honda 'CR' bikes. bought mine from 'RockyMountainATV.com'

dont spose you remember what they cost jhunter & the correct part number/s? did you need to order additional steels or fibres or were they correct amounts of each & thicknesses? not sure whether rmatv will ship oem honda to aus(they dont with ktm/husky i think) but ill check it out. cheers

yeah i did see that one just not sure how bad the steels are & if theyll clean up ok. not that much cheaper than new though

Shawbagga - I gave you wrong info. I had to go find my paperwork. I bought a complete clutch kit (fiber & Steel). It came from Appalachian Offroad MC in Charleston West Virginia, phone 304-932-0437. The receipt reads 'OE Husqvarna Clutch WR250/300' Part# 800088966. I paid $79 and free shipping (USA).

Here's their web site: http://www.ktm-parts.com/

Cool jhunter I checked them out they're in stock just gotta see if they post to Oz. If not I'll get onto motosportz mike(might get price off him first to try keep it in house). My airline enforced extended holiday has ruined the savings so may have to wait a month or after Xmas:(
