  • Hi everyone,

As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Thanks for your patience and support!

125-200cc Clutch drags until warm

Husqvarna
AA Class
On my 12 cr 144, my clutch has started dragging until the bike has warmed up. It takes about 5 mins and then it is good for the rest of the day. I have some play in the clutch pull. Do I need to adjust it where it grabs as soon as it starts to pull or something else. The bike has about 30 hrs on it, so it should not be worn out!

I change the oil after every 2 rides about 8 hrs. What type of oils is recommended? I am running rosella right now, but have also used maxima.

light weight gear oil it shouldnt be that if you change it regularly, you can take the slop out of the cable or clutch mechanism but leaver a little play so that the actuator arm is relieved of stress when the clutch is fully engaged, there are threads where these have sheared due to constant pressure. 1/8th play 3mm
i assumed oil due to warm up time, that said its starting to become very cold over here that could be a factor to consider.

I run a Rekluse z-start pro and after switching from Motul synthetic or semisynthetic 10W 40 to Mobile 1 European formula 0W40...FIRM engagement of Rekluse at immediate onset of throttle ;)
