• Hi everyone,

As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Thanks for your patience and support!

TE/TC Clutch Drag...

swtwtwtw

Husqvarna
A Class
So, I have have a bit of clutch drag with my bike since new. I have about 25 hours on it and it has not gone away, and it is a hindrance when I go to powershift on high speed uphills. Have a suggestion, anyone?

It could be the oil used.
You may want to do a search here as several threads have been posted about this.
I can tell you that I use Rotella T6 5w40 in my bike (TC449)to get the clutch drag under control.
Others will have their suggestions too.

So I searched...and found the thread where riders were changing the belleville spring. I opened mine up and tried each of the X,Y,Z settings on the belleville spring. y was stock and I always had a bit of drag. The z-setting increased the drag, and the x-setting left me with no drag. of course, I might still need a new spring, but I will ride this Saturday to verify whether or not the drag is truly gone.

Any chance you were using the Bel Ray EXL Mineral Oil that the manual recommended.

I don't think you needed to change springs. It's your oil. Especially if you used the stuff the manual mentioned (Bel Ray Mineral EXL).

The fellow that mentioned Rotella was going in the right direction.

when u say drag do you mean while standstill with clutch lever in the bike wants to creep forward or clutch slipping under power?

Installed a new OEM spring, I can see the clutch action is better. That is when pulling in the clutch lever the visible movement is a greater distance. For one of the above: Clutch drag, bike creeping while in gear. Using the softer x-setting while I was waiting for a new spring nearly eliminated the creeping I have had since new. Regarding Oil, I run 50/50 Type F ATF and 5w30, which is what Belray gear saver is. I am not unwilling to try rotella and might if this soes not solve the issue. Thanks for all the replies. Peace
