• Hi everyone,

As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Thanks for your patience and support!

Clutch and Brake levers for a 630

Hey guys, I didn't want to make a new thread for something that may have already been answered; but I'm having a hard time getting a straight answer so I want to try and have it cleared up.

Will the Magura 2 clutch and Brembo brake levers from Midwest fit a 2011 Husky SMS 630? I found a post where someone said they would fit and then immediately after I found a post that said a part of them were too thick and that they wouldn't fit. So, which is it!?

These are really my only option for brake and clutch levers, if they wont fit then I'm going to need to drop almost $300 on the ASV levers. I really do like the ASV's but the price point is a little intimidating, would much rather try the Midwest ones first.

Any and all help is appreciated, thanks fellas!

Problem seems to be whether even the ASVs activate the electrickery on both sides.

Whoa, the ASV's don't activate the the switch for the tail light either? Ahh, so many opinions I don't know what to do anymore. Would love to have some shorties; but I'm about prepared to spend hundreds of dollars if I'm not 100% certain that they are going to function properly!

I mailes ASV and asked but got no answer. I´ve got short Magura levers on both sides but had to adapt the brake switch activator with a 9mm Para case.

I'm going to link you to this thread that I found, a guy in here says that the ASV levers will activate the switches, he didn't mention if he had to mod them at all to get them on though.

You actually seem to have made a post or 2 in this thread now that I look a little closer, lol.

Right. And that´s where I couldn´t get an answer. Maybe they expect you to just sacrifice the switches and short the two wires. But I can´t de that with our bi-annual inspections.

I can't afford to do that either, my bike needs to be inspected in a little over a month, I don't want to cause myself more problems. I'm going to do some hunting around and see if I can find an answer, I'll be sure to post back here if I find anything out; that way you will know for future reference as well.

Really glad I didn't spend any money last night; right about now is the time I would have been kicking myself in the ass for not doing my homework on the products first.

ASV,s work ok i have a pair of shorties look on previous threads for part numbers. They do activate the switches

I ended up ordering the ASV levers last week, hoping they don't take long to make it to me.

This might be a stupid question, but can you still put handguards on your bike if you install shorty levers like these ASV ones?

CDC602-SK (SHORT BLACK C6 CLUTCH LEVER)
BRC555-SK (SHORT BLACK C5 BRAKE LEVER)

These just arrived. And they don´t fit. The clutch lever even has a different axle pin diameter. AND there´s no lever arm to activate the switch! Am I doing sommat wrong????? Anyway do not order these parts until things have been sorted out.

That's not what I want to hear after spending over $300. I was told by many that they work great and activate the switch for the brake light, so I'm really hoping I wasn't put on the wrong path here.

Let me know if you figure anything out, not sure when mine will be here but it should be relatively soon.

There´s no way these can activate the switches, as this is the part that is missing. I `phoned ASV in the US yesterday and they told me that it´s unlikely that any of their parts will fit the Maguras on the Husky 630. SwitchActivator.jpg

This is coming straight from ASV:

"The BRC555 has worked just fine on all bikes. Nobody has ever had an issue as far as we know. The activation is inside the master cylinder and there is no tab to activate the light. All inside the master cylinder. We have seen some variable in the CRC555 clutch tab, but that does not apply to you."

Does that make sense to you? Does it help you at all?

He asked me to take a few pictures of my current levers and send them to him if I want to be absolutely certain, waiting for a reply back now. Hoping to clear this issue up for anyone experiencing it or considering purchasing these.

I sent the pictures and I was emailed back saying what I had ordered would indeed work as needed. Is your bike a 2011? I'm not sure why they would have told you yesterday that their parts wont work, maybe try contacting them again? If it helps, I spoke with a man named Jason and he was more than helpful.

Did you order the correct clutch lever? The one I ordered and they say will work is CDC602-SR, the brake lever I ordered is the same as the product number you have there though.

Yes they asked for photos of my levers which I sent today. Take a look at your 630 levers. Underneath you´ll see a plastic box with a very small button. The part I posted above hits the button. That´s the way the switch on the 630 works. I´d like to know why they think the switch is in the master cylinder. This is the switch and the lever:-

Mine do not look like that... for some reason that looks dated to me, if that makes sense. Let me run out and take another look really quick. What side is that? Clutch or brake? I'll upload a picture of mine if it is different, which I believe it is
