• Hi everyone,

As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Thanks for your patience and support!

Cline Buttes Rec Area 03-23-14

We are heading out at 9 will be there by 10:00 Silver dodge diesel with canopy and 6 x 10 white enclosed trailer. See you there

For the most part had a great day. We rode with a friend that has a 2011 KX250f and a 2007 KTM 250 sxf. The kawi started but wouldn't stay running. Electrical I assume. The sxf was ok until you turned it off then it wouldn't start. We kicked it for 10 minutes until it started a couple of times during the ride. Total buzz kill. I do not get the 4 stroke hype. But whatever to each is own. My son and I had a great time while it lasted. I will leave it at that.

We had a very slow day. I had everything loaded except David (asleep) and the Wife (asleep) by 8:10 am. Then 1 hour and 40 minutes of motivational speaking the to walking dead zombies, and the reply of "We are on vacation, why do you have to marathon everything." We were finally on the road by 9:50 am. I was wanting to be there around 10:00-10:30 am, but that wasn't going to happen this trip.
TXC 310 ran fine, Son's RM 65 ran fine (bottomed out on a couple of rocks), Wife's TTR 125 I forgot to change the jetting = open choke and reset idle.

Here is what I think we rode according to the map

Trails with wife and son: 51, left on to 27, right on to 37, right on to 31, left on to 24, left on to 33, left on to 27, to play area, I think we took Barr road back. Wife was tired.

Trails with son: 51, 55,left to 22, turns in to 42 (Bottomed out hopping rocks), left on 31, left on 27, back to play on 51, and 55. Son getting tired.

It was nice to have welcome greeting from Phaeton. We had a great time. I saw some trails that I would like to try.

They are adding more trails on the other side of the hwy this fall. The trails are there just not marked or mapped. Fun place to ride and having designated single track is awesome. The black trails are fairly technical which I enjoy. So wish it was 3x the size also.

That is the tradeoff, close to town but limited trail length.

When I was a 15 year old kid we were known to ride our SL100s everywhere from the Cline Buttes area out to Alfalfa (Four Corners)...with occasional highway transit and heavy use of irrigation canal roads :-)
