• Husqvarna Motorcycles Made In Sweden - About 1988 and older

  • Hi everyone,

As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Thanks for your patience and support!

Looking at an 83 250CR that's going to need a new gas tank. Has anyone had experiance with using one of the stock size Clarke tanks?

I have wondered, how an 83 looks with a stock sized Clarke tanks complete with graphics, does anyone have a picture?

I don't have a picture, but it looks good.Just have MXM make the 1983 tank graphics with gas venting holes. Since the 1983 had a steel/alum tank they will not have venting holes in 1983 graphics.

Pics of my Clarke tank to compare to an original Husky.

What graphics are those on the Clarke? They fir/look perfect. Not thick...just nice how they set.

It is only serigraphie on stickers, but it doesn't support time
and scratches.

I have fitted a 8litre tank to my 84 te 510. The 82 seat is too short. The 84 blue seat fits perfectly but you need to remove the seat cover and shape the foam that rests against the tank - needs to be scalloped out. my seat cover is original and hard and i had to slice the cover to form to the scalloped shape
I can post a photo but need to work out how..

Nothing to add here other than I find clarke tanks to be some of the best made aftermarket tanks going.

I would say 8-9 liters, so more closed from 2.2 gallons than 3.3.
Thanks Michael, back tracking and checking spec's on the 1983 WR's they have 3.2 gallon tanks, so either would be 'appropriate" depending on how much fuel you would like to carry I guess....;-)

Wile not being a 83 the picture of my 82 is with the Clark 3.3 Tank. The only gripe I have is every Clark Tank I have leaks Gas from the Gas cap. Not very much, just enough to make a mess of your decals and stink up your rideing gear

Here's my Clarke (I think it's a Clarke, but don't know for sure - it came with the bike). Huge desert tank, holds a boat load of fuel. It would look great with graphics - if the gas fumes didn't eventually bubble them off. The tank is well made, but old-age yellowed for which nothing can be done. Painting it would look nice, provided the bike never got ridden or filled with gas again.

I might still have the original tank for you. We need to meet for coffee.

Yo' Firecracker, glad to see you're still around. It's your external rotor setup that's currently on my machine (just put it on a couple months ago, if you can believe it's taken me that long - been spending far too much dirt-time the Japanese way lately...I should be severly beaten with a stick). New seal beneath the stator, of course. Just gotta throw some oil in the crank and some gas in the tank and see what happens.

No. No. No. You don't have time for coffee, Mark. There is still work to do on my bike. That is why, after all, I left it in your garage.
Thanks, bro.

Can someone post up some photos of how they have secured the Clarke tank in the rear? If you use the supplied hardware it looks like it will rub a hole in the seat. Short of zip ties, I'm lacking imagination on how to utilize the threads on the underside to mount it.
