  • Hi everyone,

As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Thanks for your patience and support!

Clarke Mfg plastic tank for '10 Husky TC/TXC/TE250

Clarke Mfg

Talked with gentleman Thursday, that had bought a 250 TXC for his son to race. He spoke to Clarke and was told there 12 to 16 weeks out. He then called P3, and is having one made there. The gentleman at P3 said he sent them a mold weeks ago and doesn't undersatand the holdup. Not good news especially with summer coming.

they are in fact building it and i don't think it will be that far out. All tank manufacturer take forever, must be a grueling process. I know the folks at Clarke and will call Monday and see whats up. It's happening for sure.

I talked to Britt at Clarke Saturday 06/19/10 about the tanks he was here consigning his road bike for sale, hes just finishing his part and they will need to borrow another bike and pump from us again for referance and fitment. the project now goes onto another person for his part, but some of the key people for this are going on vacations so its sounds like end of July or longer .I know alot of WR125/150 and Te/TC/TXC owners have been waiting a long time but thats the truth straight from the horses mouth.billf

Do we have any more current estimates? I have hi hopes for this Clarke tank and the manufacturer is holding a 10% off sale on all tanks until the end of August. I'm crossing my fingers.

I called them a few days ago because they wanted to use my WR and TXC. They said 2 weeks and then laughed saying they have said that for a month. When it is here it is here. Sounds like they are real close.

I have used Clarke tanks in the past on many of my older bikes. I really like their products and I was looking forward to using their tank on my new bike. The wait was too long so I purchased a Clarke.

As we all know the stock tank capacity is a joke of what a dual sport bike range should be. I ride often to my favorite trails from my home, the ride is 14 miles one way all on dirt to the "super secret" stuff then the ride really "starts". I have came home on fumes before and never again. The stock tank would not let me have enough capacity to allow me to ride without trailering up and driving for an hour not right.

Hopefully Clarke gets this tank completed and out to the public in the next couple of weeks, like IMS. The IMS tank claims 2.8 gal. but on the FI 250, it might not be able to use all of that fuel. The Clarke is supposed to be a copy of the P3 carbon/kevlar tanks.

Looks like the IMS is lower on top and drops farther down than stock, while the Clarke (If identical to P3), will be taller, but not drop as far down. The Clarke should be a 3.0, if all stays the same as P3.

Looks like the Clarke might have more usable fuel for the FI bikes and will be a bit bigger than the IMS tank.

Either way, both tank options will be good :applause:

Mitch.
