• Hi everyone,

As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Thanks for your patience and support!

I pulled out the cat converter in my Strada, was'nt easy.Going for a ride I will check in later.

It looks like a few chunks of concrete. I had to break camera2013 423.jpg it up to get it out. Seems to breathe much better,It revs out quicker and cleaned up to low end a little. It is a tiny bit louder, but not loud enough. It runs great in my opinion.

Do you have any spoofer or other fuel delivery mods? Can you give us an updated report of your impressions after you get a chance to run up some more miles? Thanks!

yes, there are Two.The cats are in the mufflers, pull them off and look inside.I rode about 100 miles and alls perfect.

Do you have the Boostaplug or the WK ? The head pipe dumps super hot air on your left leg in the summer. I think that removing the cats would lower the head pipe temp some but I am concerned about getting the bike back into a lean condition. I have a foam air filter on the way and wonder if a freshly serviced foam air filter will bring back the lean spot. I don't think so but knocking out the cat core is a one way street. With the WK set on the cold weather setting the bike runs super but a little more throttle response on the bottom would be sweet.

I've opened up a few Husky cans for myself and others, I found that a deep hole saw in a good drill works wonders on the cats.
Now if I'm going to gut the plate-baffle style cans like on the 630, I just slide the whole core out and chop the end caps off to re-use with some perforated stainless tube.

Someone posted this elsewhere:

Drill holes around the circumference of the honeycomb material. Then switch to a larger drill bit & redrill the holes so they are real close to each other. Then use a long chisel to punch any remaining material between the holes.

You'll get a lot of it out fairly quickly this way. Use the long chisel / screwdriver to scrape the material off the walls. Yes it's tedious but I'd do it again.

Finished.

Yay riveted old-style cans...

H spared little expense in making the TR mufflers, if you tethered one on a chain it would be a deadly weapon. And reusable after many battles.

BTW rww no change on heat around left leg / ankle.
