• Hi everyone,

As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Thanks for your patience and support!

Went to the San Diego event last night. Almost blew it off. Glad I didn't, special attendees included "The Man" Roger D "Bad Brad" Lackey (seated right behind us)), "Golden Boy" Glover, Danny LaPorte and many many former top pros and local SoCal MX guys from the 70-80-90s MX scene. Was a good moto flick and a nice tribute to Marty Moates.
Interviewees and focus riders (some no longer with us like Marty) in the movie include so many riders/mechs/tv personalities it is hard to remember but here are a few last names, DeCoster, Tripes, Pomeroy, LaPorte, Wolsink, Carlqvist, Lechien,Johnson,Bailey, Tripp, Arnold, Siemen, LOP Yamaha folks, Hannah,Moates family members, track owners and many more that didnt come to my head at the moment.
Go see the film or buy it. It has great ABC sports clips, great photos, and fun history of the day the day a privateer US rider from a private team went 1-1 at the USGP MX. The program they gave us has the entry list for the 500cc FIM USGP and the AMA 250cc races for that day at Carlsbad. And all the adverts are from the era!!The lists are a complete who's who of MX racers from history almost every name is recognizable from both lists. It was a cool event.

We had a booth next to Brad Lacky at the Washougal MX gig. Super nice guy and he let me drink all his beer. :D Very down to earth. Was amazed how many people did not know who he was.

Yes, Lackey is an awesome guy. I met him in the Mid 1980's when he was promoting a race. I was in my early teens at the time, he was super cool, chatting with me for awhile.
You would think everyone at a AMA National would know who "Bad" Brad is. Or in Europe they called him "Bad Lucky..."
