• Hi everyone,

As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Thanks for your patience and support!

Made it back over to the middle of the island verifying what trails I know are still passable and looking for new stuff also.

First off, Hiway 101 was graded. It was really fast and somewhat smooth. I was topping out the 010 TC250 almost on the top side where the road is the smoothest.

Second, once at the bottom of the valley where 101 starts (or ends), I went up-stream this time. This route holds promise and was very scenic. It even had a pretty cool MX type jump in one place. Water was about crystal clear and not too deep.

Pics first of the valley floor and river, then video of the hiway 101.

For the dog lovers. Dogs gotta like it out here.

River pics.

There is the jump on the left side. Pretty safe ESP with all that sand to crash in. Those kids are as small as they look. Lots of independence for country folks. I can remember that from when I was not a city dweller many many moons ago.

Preferred transportation in the mountains maybe but not the only people mover as shown by that dual sport tire track in the foreground. And a flat river bed like this is a very good way to travel n the mountains around here in many places.

Carabao Hiway graded video....

This first one is heading down into the valley. I included it here so you can get a better look of the hillside road and you get a better feel of how rough it is with plenty of big rocks that are not embedded in the dirt and will cause a crash many times if the front wheel hits them first.

Felt good with the stock suspension. You can also hear the bike popping here as I'm engine braking... CARB clogged jet issue here with the bike sitting too much between rides. CARB is fixed now.

The uphill. I was about topping the bike out towards the top side where the road is alot better. 1-3 months, depending on the rain, and this place should be back to something much gnarlier :0)
