  • Hi everyone,

As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Thanks for your patience and support!

Husqvarna
Hi Guys,
I just bought this old Husky project,
it has been imported to the uk at some point but only states 1993 Husqvarna 250cc
it has an engine code of 297 stamped everywhere on the engine and was confused at to whether it was a 300cc engine or not, whether it has been a motox then road registered or has always been a road going trail bike, 1376414_569329246466413_825537915_n.jpg 1384212_569466846452653_252674173_n.jpg
there appears to be a twin exit pipe for silencers but don't know if this is original to the bike or some other spares for another Husqvarna the previous keepers have collected along the way is it a cr or wr or something like that or something different? the age is given as 1993 but I know sometimes with our DVLA system this could end up being wrong and might be a 1992 or 1994, any help would be greatly appreciated as I plan to restore her and use her,
many thanks
Jamie Clark (Scotland UK)

Looks like a 92-94 model, it ain't a 300cc as the 300cc 2 bangers only came in this century.
Twin exit pipe? It's a two stroke, an expansion chamber connected to the silencer or stinger.
Cr or WR? Without tracing the VIN plate (Boogie link is helpful), visual if the bike has a switchblock for lights etc, silver regulator either mounted in the front or upper LH side of the frame, wires that stretch to the rear with plugs, rear brake switch...then it's a WR as the CR (MX) didn't have these lighting systems.

it is a WR as it has a kickstand mount, the 297 might be a casting number?, my 93 360 has a 266 casting number on the cylinder
and yes it looks like a 93 or 94 but not a 92 as they had a squarish swingarm and the kickstand was mounted on the swingarm (had one)

It's either a WXC or WXE model and in that era they had 250 and 360. I only know this cause I recently picked one up and researched the hell out of it. hope this helps a bit... Oh and by the looks of graphics it should be 93

So if cylinder has 266D casting number is 360cc. Right?
