• Hi everyone,

As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Thanks for your patience and support!

This is the first bike Ive ever tried to sell that I havent gotten any one interested at all. I kind of figured it may be a slow seller but evidently not many folks want a 09 TXC250. Ive even run it on C.L. at "make me a reasonable offer" and no one will even offer on it. I dont have to sell it so its no big deal. Ive sold two KTM'S and one sold the second day and the other a week later.

Huskies don't really have any name value except with husky riders .... If you read these sites, you will see even today, quotes from people saying they did not know Husky still makes motorcycles :(

KTM is really growing I think, no matter what is said around here by some ... I did a Ironman in 2005 range and only saw the fastest riders on them ... 3 years later, all kinds of people are on them .... fast ones, slow, ones, big ones ... little ones ...

bmw is changing this to some degree finally ... but they are also trying to kill off these models to some degree and this ain't gonna help ya there ...

If there is a Husky dealer there, you might take it to him as he will draw the Husky crowd ... and UR lucky you don't really have to sell it :0 )

Also, I'm in a 3rd world country now and the KTMs are here also :)

Do not feel bad try being from a location where most people do not even know that husky makes a motorcycle, they think of a chainsaw!! I have always bought them knowing in my opinion that they were the best, but also knowing they can cometimes be like a boat anchor when time to get rid of. Also with 09 carry overs so reasonable, sadly it makes your bike less appealing (and BMW financing available) Blame it also on unfair magizine shootouts filled with orange ringers and bigger advertising checks, but mostly blame it on husqvarna fo at a time when they had a superior product had poor marketing stradegy! Things I hope will change! The orange bikes are no better they just have there stuff together. For the record 09 txc 250's were available several months ago new for $3,900.00 Good luck and try ebay. I had good luck with that in the past.

Don't feel like the Lone Ranger. I had a brand new KX250 and well used KTM, both set up for cross country. Guess which one sold for my full asking price and which one is still sitting in my garage without one nibble?

Hint: there are no orange bikes in my garage.

I'd buy a new 09 for 3,900! but I ain't got no money now :(

Ktm is moving for sure ... They make a ton of different bikes, 2t & 4t, plus an ELEC model ... Plus they are hitting the FIM race in GH with a boat load of riders and their new bikes ...

World wide, they have many champions I think ...

i wouldn't feel bad... i think any "oddly named" bike takes longer to sell... i have a buddy who has been trying to sell his ohlin's equipped, dyno tuned, top dollar everything honda cbr954rr for over a year... people want to buy his shock, but not the bike... lol... normal joe shmoe isn't interested because it doesn't say "1000", even though it was one of the most torque heavy, lightest 4 cyl. liter bikes made... ah well...

good luck with the sale if you keep trying!

Try eBay for more exposure. Someone wants it you just have to find them. Try selling a ATK. :) Anyone want a minty 95 406?

Wadman,
One thing I noticed is you have no price listed in your add?
Then a comment on no low balling.
That leads me to just look at another bike. These are just my thoughts, please don't take it wrong.
I bought my txc off a CH member and drove 9 hours one way to pick it up. His ad had a price and lots of pictures showing any issue. So before I contacted him the first time I was sold if it was still avalible.

You are probally right but I would hate to leave any money on the table by asking too little. I have in the past listed bikes with the price on them for say..3500. and had idiots email with the "ill give you $1000 for it"

When you get that email you tell them that someone just wrote you a check for $750.00 and that you are sorry they didn't come along sooner. You might as well mess with them, they are messing with you.

you have it listed with no price and say no low ballers...like my dad says if you have to ask how much it is you cant afford it....first thing i look...price? nope oh keep moving on...then is it a price i can pay....if so....pics? nope most likely move on....sell your product...a dealer dont just sit a bike out and people come buy...they hound you, bug you and then you buy....sell it....

I will ALWAYS pass over anything without a price listed. plenty of OTHER fish in the sea to mess with that nonsense. Just saying...

Different strokes for different folks.. look at the car market Standard shift could sell to all.. stick shift drops 80% of sale

Vans are same way.. van owners buy another van, soccer moms buy mini vans , cargo's and customs vans are very select few..

I know for sure.. A plated bike with lighting sells easier then a stripped unit.. On the resale side...

Good Luck and I agree on price.. If I have to ask... I won't

LOL I hear ya. I have ran into this problem with my Husaberg. I will put it on Craigslist ad get little interest. How about I will trade you my Husaberg for your ATK?

I sold my '09 TXC 250 in a week last December. Don't ask how low the price was. One of the "realities" of Husky ownership. Until the brand gets more recognition, I think it's unrealistic to expect a quick sale at a higher price... unless you get lucky and find an enthusiast who wants exactly what you got. My TXC went for $3200.00... but it went quick.
