  • Hi everyone,

As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Thanks for your patience and support!

Cant find good deal on 310 TXC... Should I buy 250 TXC

fire1998

Husqvarna
AA Class
Ive been looking for a 13 310 TXC at closeout pricing but am not finding any. I have found some 13 TXC 250s out there for as low as $4299. I am roughly 195 lbs and a decent B rider off road. Will I be satisfied with a 250? I owned a 250 TC and loved it but ended up selling it for a 449. Found a good deal.on a 12 310 but have read the 13 250TXC with new head is just as fast. Help me make a decision. I really miss the handing and ergos of the xlite chassis.
Thanks

Fire, try giving Motoxotica a call. Last I talked with Dan he had a couple on the floor. I didn't ask price though, so you'll have to give them a call to see.

I almost always race my 2010 TXC 250 and also racing in the B class. This has been the best race bike for me hands down. I am still charging and having fun at the end of a 2 hour hare scrambles and that never happened when I was racing a 450. With all that said, I wouldn't mind just a tad more juice once and a while. I'm about 185 in street cloths and the only time I need those extra cc's are coming out of a tight corner with a hill climb immediately after. The 250 will chug up the hill if I miss a shift, but just fast enough to keep itself alive. If I get in the right gear it's almost never an issue, but those few times when I whiff, it would be nice to have that extra boost.

If you didn't like the Red Head motor on the TC250 and traded it for a 449, why do you think you will like it on the TXC250?

How about the '13 TE310?
I believe same motor and everything else, with some extras.
The ecu is the same but needs the TXC race map and a minor
air horn change in the air box.
The ecu remap should be free and the horn thing is around $30, I believe.

I think that gets you to TXC mode.

Can anybody confirm?

I just purchased a te250r cause it was $2000 cheaper than the 310r here in Aust. My previous bike was a wr300 2010. I really wanted to try out the xlite motor and the handling. Im glad I did too :)
Im no racer just a trail rider FYI. And I was surprised at how it goes from mid to top I find it pretty quick. Only done about six hrs on it last weekend just running in getting used to new bike.

Road Track and Trail Cycles in Muskogee has four 2013 TXC310r's left (they had five :) ) with a nice rebate.....

Muskogee, OK
