  • Hi everyone,

As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Thanks for your patience and support!

Cant find '07 TE 250 aftermarket exhaust???

TE 250 Girl

Husqvarna
A Class
Im starting to get my bike looking good and ready for the spring, already.

I have searched, and searched for aftermarket exhaust for my bike and cannot find anything. Akropovic(sp?), Leo Vince, Arrow, FMF, White Bros, and several others I think. Non of their sites have an "application" for my 07?

We put an aftermarket exhaust on my old bike (KLX 140L) and it made a HUGE difference. So Im wanting to do the same now with my Husky.

Did these companies ever make them? Or are they just not available any more?

Thanks so much! :)

I believe Leo Vince makes a system for the 06 250F. There is no reason why it wont bolt right on the 07.

It's one thing to de-restrict a bunged-up little 12hp KLX140, quite another to try and de-restrict a 32hp competition bike that has very little restriction from the factory.

It's a lot of money to spend in an effort that might gain 1hp, which won't be noticeable on the 250. For the same cash, you could put a 310 kit on it and immediately gain 5-7 hp..........

Just a thought.....

Slowpoke; Are you saying its kind of a waste of money? That is to say, alot of money for very little effect?

I just assumed it would help. Not sure I can talk the BF into making the motor larger. Im thinking thats quit a bit of work. :excuseme:

Its been re-geared (lower), and that made a HUGE difference. Just trying to add more "bottom end torque" ( I tend to ride in 2nd gear perhaps a little too much) and I just thought an aftermarket muffler would help. :)

I sure thank you for everyones thoughts!

Fast By Ferracci has a full system. Available from them or Hall's for $550. Hall's also has 2 FMF slip-ons for the '04 TE/TC 250. The FBF pipe says for 2004-2007, so the FMF slip-on's might work. Someone here on CH might know the answer.

IMO- exhaust systems are generally a bit of a waste of cash. Most of them cost over $500 and generally only gain about 1hp or so. - So, yes - a lot of money for little effect. most of the aftermarket systems are a lot louder than the stock 07 TE, which is nice and quiet in stock form(I have one also)
The 310 kits can be had for similar money and will not only solve your low end torque issue, but have a very noticeable amount of power increase all over. I think Motosportz sells them for around $650.00. They can be installed in an afternoon.
I'd suggest finding a local 310 to test ride & compare to your bike if possible, before spending $500 per hp (gained) on an exhaust, vs. $125 per hp on a 310 kit.

I agree with Slowpoke. I would spend $650 on the 300cc kit over the $550 for an exhaust system.

Is it made by Husqvarna, and Motosportz sells it, or does Motosportz actually make it here in Washington? I like this idea

Something I'd definately look at - but my 250 works just fine now...probably only about 25hrs since rebuild.
Im sure its a fantastic upgrade, but im not nearly to the capability of the bike.
Best bang for the buck!

Another possibility is to add a "PowerNow" to the intake. I added one on my 06' TE-250 and re-jetted with the JD jetting kit. The difference in the low end is very noticable both in amount of power and how clean it runs. You can get both for under $200, I will eventually install the 300 kit too. I've riden a buddies and it's a nice improvement.
