  • Hi everyone,

As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Thanks for your patience and support!

Can a TC449 be street legal?

I have a my11 tc 449 and I know it's the mx version of this bike but was wondering if it can be street legal or even if the te449s are street legal. I haven't found any definitive answer online or in the forum. Can anyone tell me for certain if it is or isn't street legal wound be much appreciated.

Depends on your version of "Street Legal". Also, you are down one gear to the 6 speed with the exact same ratios, so top end is going to be a bitch.

I live in British Columbia and I know that they have been getting strict on models or bikes that have been made "street legal". If I did do everything to make it legal ie headlight taillight turn signals etc can I get it insured and be legal at the same time. I was told that some of the old Hondas made legal back in the day can be insured and registered but if you hit someone or get pulled over by the popo and get a vi you won't pass because it is technically a restricted road use bike. I don't plan on going on the hi way just in town riding and in the hills to go into the mountains but it would be cool to supermoto this thing out and have some fun in the twisties.

You need to visit your local RCMP barracks or department of licensing office to find this out, not a bunch of goons on a message board in other countries and states that all have different vehicle licensing requirements.

That said, if you have a trusted friend across the line in Washington in whose name you can put the bike, yes, you can make it street legal and get a plate for it once inspected.
