• Hi everyone,

As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Thanks for your patience and support!

Can a bike with a Rekluse auto clutch be bump-started? Yes.

Since I do have one of these devices on a bike and ride with it very often (~250hrs) , I'm being forced to learn about it ... I'm checking to see if this device and be safely set up to mimic a normal clutch and forget the feathering at low RPMs ...

Takes a 8mm socket, and 2 allen wrenches (5mm and 4mm) to accomplish this on my core EXP.

All three Rekluse Auto-Clutches can be configured to bump-start the engine in the event your normal starting system fails. However, they can not be configured for bump-starting on the go like a standard clutch. One must stop the motorcycle and make an adjustment (on some Rekluse models this requires tools) to bump start and then make another adjustment to continue riding once the engine fires. Bump-starting can be done to get you home.

On the Husky with Dyna Ring you just adjust the clutch cable.

On the GG with Core EXP adjust he slave cylinder with an allen wrench.

On the KTM with Z-start there would be no way to do it.

I haven't had to do it...yet...but with the Rekluse EXP supposed to be able to adjust the free play at the lever to bump start.
I've got @ 13.5 hrs on my bike and haven't stalled it yet. Have been thinking to post some Rekluse love, 'cause it got me out of a terrible jam recently, riding alone, way back in the forest.

It was setup correctly but for whatever reason got tighter and tighter and needed to be adjusted ,,, That's when I was reading on it and adjusting on it ...seems easy enough but with a narrow window (of a few clicks) for the proper adjustment.

Once there set up correctly and you get use to it. Total game changer.

Agreed, getting used to it and liking it more and more.

Rekluse tuning is next on my list. I think mine drags a little too much and want to try different engagement points and springs. Also, the PO installed it and everything else he did was a mess, so need to have a look soon. It works great on the trail though, just have to set the idle a little high because of the clutch drag.

The Husky with Dynaring always drags. I have messed with it and shimmed it but still does. I have it adjusted to you can wack the rear brake and not kill the motor. Still able to start it in gear but must have the clutch pulled in.

GG with Core EXP I need to adjust a couple more clicks. Noticed it was draging a little much today. I had it all set but added the silencer o-rings which changes the adjustment. Those o-rings work great BTW no more crazy clutch rattle.

KTM with Z-start Crazy clutch lever. Feels so light that is doesn't seem like it's working. You can start this bike in gear with no clutch all day long. Works great. Seems to not free wheel on down hills as easy as the Core EXP but I didn't ride it very long today. It's the wife's bike and she is loving it.
