• Hi everyone,

As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Thanks for your patience and support!

For those of y'all who own BMW motorcycles, especially the GS line; is there a site out there like this here cafe, or is ADV pretty much it ?
Might have some big fat 1100GS questions coming up in the near future...

I own an F800GS that blows clutches left and right. Other than that, it's a fantastic bike. Most fun bike I've ever owned. Until it has to go to the shop, that is.

I also own a '97 K1100, with the old Flying Brick lateral inline four design. EXTREMELY reliable. Just got it back after 7 months of not riding it. It was in the shop for nearly 5 months for some body work (kick stand folded up and dropped the bike). Put some new rubber on it and did about 150 miles yesterday before heading up to a BBQ. It was a good day.

This site is advertised as the Worldwide Husqvarna Community, so I doubt Coffee would want to add other brands like BMW. There are other BMW based sites. ADV is rather generic, it covers all brands as long as some dirt action is involved or intended in the design of the bike.

Yeah, that’s what I’m asking; what are those good BMW sites, if I’m looking for some good info about a GS ?

couldn't say for an R1100GS... I use ADVrider and f800riders.org for info on my F800GS.
