  • Hi everyone,

As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Thanks for your patience and support!

the dry break is a fast fueling device no fuel cap to unscrew just slam the can in the drybreak and it fuels pull ca off and the fuels cut off by spring loaded shut off.

Added- Rekluse, Jetted stock Mikuni, Terminator cable, Cycra guards, 449 Number plate/fender, re-valved susp, lots of crashing-mostly on rocks..

Lectron carb, LTR suspension re-valve, all the other mods I did were to make it fit my 6'6" 205 lb self.... and of course bark busters, Tubliss and a skid plate but that's a preference thing.

Not yet, stripping it down to OEM but now as spring lies ahead it will become a good bike to ride again.

Waiting for dez100 to hopefully make a sale.
Yeah over the years I have been told by three different people who really knew their stuff that if I ever wanted to move a bike advertise like starting in first week in march "desert 100" bike. I love my 300. If I have the extra $$ and room I'd seriously consdier your 300. They really are great bikes

FMF Gnarly (Nice!)
JD Jet Kit (Nicer!)
Tusk Aluminum Pipe Guard
7602 Radiator Guard in red (pretty)
Golden Tyre GT216 90/90-21 front (this tire is going to go on all my bikes), GT257 rear (putting a MotoZ Mountain rear on today)
Trail Tech Woods Bend bars
Dirt-Bike-Gear.com rear tool bag and front tube bag.
Tugger straps front and rear.
ZipTy husk front axel bolt (this is going to go on all my bikes -- reduces the weight of my pack since I don't need a giant alan wrench)
Touratech lowered/set-back foot pegs

Sitting in the garage ready to install:
Cycra pro-bend hand gauards
Teflon coated clutch cable
ZipTy Mikuni Air Screw
Ebay Mikuni Idle Stop Screw (crazy install on this one)
FMF Q Stealth silencer

Future:
May do a G2 Throttle Tamer
Waiting until summer (not much fun riding in the summer here) to get the suspension done.

I piked up the Gnarly and silencer used. I scavenged the hand guards, tugger straps, gear/tool bags, foot pegs from my TE 511 -- which I'm transforming from a trail bike to a actual dual-sport bike.

If you pick one of these up, put want ads in the Classifieds here before you buy anything. You'll probably find a lot of guys willing to sell you some of what you want.

EDIT:
Just did the clutch arm mod. Very nice. Worth the 4 hours in the garage. Probably could do it in much, much less time than this, but I went to town and made it pretty so my bike wouldn't look frankenstein.
I also installed the air and idle screws. Pretty convenient.
Put the Q Stealth on, like it for the noise reduction.
Put the G2 Throttle Tamer on. I have to say this is pretty cool.
I also tried to do the clutch cable reroute. But my radiator guards don't provide enough clearance to route the cable in front of the motor then between the fame and the radiator.

I put a new clutch cable for a WR360 on mine and it reduced the pull by half... angled up under the tank. Much better for me.

Cosmo - Which rear tool bag did you get from dirt bike gear? How does it work?

I have the regular sized one. It holds all of my tools including a Motion Pro tire iron/wrench. It also holds my garmin oregon, some protein bars and a map.

My buddy liked it so much he put one on the front fender of the his KDX 220 and is going to buy another for his KDX 200. I really like the front fender idea.

For me it was hard to decide between the regular sized bag and the fast-boy. On the husky, it's already hard enough to get my leg over, when the bag is loaded with stuff it can be a challenge at the end of the day.

I think I might put the tube bag back on my TE511 and buy another regular sized bag to mount on the fender of my WR.

Lectron, lectron and lectron!!!
Transformed my '14 WR300 (last of the reds) from a hard starting pain in the ass, to a well jetted, economic, 1st or 2nd kick at most starter weapon.
Suspension is next, but until then, it's the best $$$ I've spent on any bike mod (including road bikes) yet!
