  • Hi everyone,

As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Thanks for your patience and support!

Buying a Husqvarna TE 450/510 06-08

addo, Beautiful TE you got there. The red wheels and hubs look awesome! I see your '08 has the stock exhaust and O2 sensor it the mid pipe. Besides being way lean, my '08 ran good in stock form. Get the p/u cap and plug (about $40 US), locate a pipe (or decat the stocker, pita, welded inside) and you should loose any throttle hesisation.

XLEnduroman thanks for the comments its looks good/different with red wheels i think, at the risk of sounding stupid can you elaborate on your solution. do you mean remove the Lamda probe and cap off but what do you do with the plug end? also is there any other emission restrictions of uncorking i can carry out? is there any how to threads or uncorking packs you can buy?

thanks for the feed back

There are some differences between the years, but danbartol's thread will be of help. http://www.cafehusky.com/threads/living-with-a-2010-husky-te-510.6249/
I suggest getting the battery tray from the '09 and '10 bikes. Part # 8000 HO195 (called battery case).

Many thanks for the thread details, what a great thread with detail for newbies like me.

I dropped my bike off Touratech as they are my nearest Husqvarna dealer for a service and valve check and he's just rang up saying it need's to have new exhaust shims as they are out of specification and a usual first service item as i don't think the bike has ever had these checked, he also mentioned that could be something to do with the slight hesitation when going through the gears.
