  • Hi everyone,

As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Thanks for your patience and support!

250-500cc Broken swing arm

Reddog23

Husqvarna
Hey guys, I've encountered a problem that I find a little unthinkable. I took my 2001 WR360 out yesterday on the county road to just put some paces before I can get in the mountains for the season. While I was accelerating through fourth gear the bolt holding the front sprocket in came out and the sprocket got jammed between the swing arm and frame. I got it hammered out but the sprocket is missing some teeth and the front of the swing arm had a chunk get broken off. So I was wondering what other year swing arms would fit and if I should even consider welding the broken piece back on if possible. Any ideas or help would be very appreciated.

I have an extra one from a 2005 TE250. I picked it up for not much money in case of such a catastrophic event.

If you think that it might work or want more info or measurements, please let me know.

The illustrations in the parts catalogues look the same, except the chain hardware mounts on the other side. The part #'s are different, I acknowledge.

that happened to me
fortunately I was in first gear taking off
common problem with these
the different years used different lengths and shock geometry to adjust the handling,
you need to do some research

There is an old and a new style that changed around 2001.

Does your swingarm come with the zerks in the swingarm bearings or not?

The new Swingarms do not have zerks in them....the old ones do.

I have a spare new style swingarm that should fit.

Ya it has the zerks in it. Halls said they could order one so ill probably just go with that i think. My buddy in town that owns a welding shop is going to weld the piece that broke off the swing arm back on, so hopefully that will work till the new one comes.
