  • Hi everyone,

As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Thanks for your patience and support!

All 2st broken silencer mounts

Husqvarna
AA Class
the mounts on my sub frame broke off for my silencer, is this common and is there a fix for it?

i dont even remember wrecking it hard on that side. :excuseme:

Come to think of it my 06 CR 125 mounts broke too. Had the bike shop weld them back up. No issues after that. My 08 shows no signs of failure, YET!!

I've got two WR's and I haven't had to weld either of them yet.

However, I did have to weld the tabs for the silencer back on to my Gas Gas, so it's not just a Husky thing.

Mine broke off in the race yesterday. Not in a crash, just from vibration. It's a 2010 wr250 I bought last spring as a leftover. Maybe 100 hours on it?? This is totally unacceptable. Stuff like this shouldn't break, ever, unless you throw your bike off a cliff or something. Does Husky know about this? I am certainly going to tell my dealer about it next time I order anything from him.

Wow, must be thin these silencer mounts...my 1996 WR360 has seen it's fair share of cartwheels and they have bent but not broken?

I have no broken mounts (yet) but I noticed after my last ride, after some big hits, I had tire marks on my silencer. Could be a culprit.

Mine broke also and it was beacuse the silencer bolts were to tight. Not allowing the rubber mounts to do their job.

Gents, have found this to be a recurring weakness on the wr250, especially in very long 2 day events[ up to 10 hours total] with minimal repair time as the bike gets impounded. Have also had to get new tabs welded on the subframe. For the past couple years have been running a adjustable stainless screwtype hoseclamp around the silencer and including the subframe rail. This requires a slit in the rear fender for the clamp to pass through[EZ to make w a dremel or soldering iron]. Seems to be a good cheap solution so far with 100 hrs on it. The rear number plate covers it up[need a little notch in this also].

Mine broke off earlier this year and now I just use a piece of strap steel from the silencer mount hole to the side panel bolt. Works for me.
