  • Hi everyone,

As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Thanks for your patience and support!

Nasty break right here. could have been ugly.

Riding partner was complaining of his front end being loose last weekend. we stopped a few times to try and diagnose and came up with nothing. figured it was a head bearing going out.

he got home and began to tear down for a top end rebuild and found this mega break. broke all the way thru both tubes. could easily flex it open 1/2" once the motor mount was removed.

so we fixed it.

anyone else seen this happen?

Holy carp I bet that had a "loose" feeling. I've never seen one crack there. Loose motor mounts and cracked frames go hand-in-hand, were any of the mounts loose?

ive had a crack on my 07 frame where the rear master clyinder is, but ive never seen a husky frame break there before

Wow yes sir shes cracked. Nice job on the repair, you guys did an awesome job. We should all get used to this with the frames being made by KTM now

I've never seen one in person but I've seen multiple pictures and videos of ktm coming apart at the triple tree

Grant Langston broke one in SX. I've seen a pic or two. There is a lot of them out there and raced at the highest level, its going to happen.

I think the new huskys come with CNC clamps. Typically these are stronger.

Only time will tell on the new husky's I'm glad they up dated to some of the new technology but I'm wishing they didn't copy cat and already produced bike. I didn't mean to High jack this guys thread by making a joke though.

one plate on the top mount was broken.

I have a 93 360 and had a 92 360, the difference between them was negligible, the exhaust and kickstand were the difference except for a huge difference for this conversation, there was no upper motor mount in 92, never saw anything on the frame that looked marginal, but definitely see the advantage as the handling felt a little more accurate

As much as i hate perimiter frames ive not seen one break, but thank F@@@ the husky is steel easy fix could of been very nasty if the lower tube went tooo.
