  • Hi everyone,

As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Thanks for your patience and support!

I was looking at these last week they were £45 so not sure why they are now £81. You can get them from here though for £45

Something to bear in mind is the part numbers for the 250/310 8000A7634 and the 449/511 8000H3084 brake pedals are different so I dont know they are the same. I have mailed Apico but as yet I have had no response.

Does anyone else know?

Brake snake required on that one. The oem brake tip is horrible. I use the ZipTy tip. It is super easy to install and allows for easy mounting of the snake.

After liberal use of a grinder to remove the OE tip it does, run one on my SMR. Not that I use the rear brake much...

Yes it fits the 511. First ride was a huge difference for me, felt like an easy platform for braking. Too bad it isn't red, but we use it on everything from Husky to Kawasaki.

Called Bill's he sent one out the next day. Have it in a day or too. I wish someone made a better oem one with a better tip but oh we'll. All I need to buy now is a brake snake and I'm good to go. Thanks for all the help you guys!!

I got the rear brake pedal in the mail the other day and put it on. As I was uninstalling the bolt that holds it all together I notice I could spin it out with my finger that could have been bad. Reinstalled everything and got to go now. I'm going to make a brake snake at work. We have 1/8in steel wire with crimps so I'm going to fab one up. Have to be more careful I guess. That's not going to happen. Lol took some pics of the old one compared to the new one if anyone cares to see. I have an order to give to zipty in the near future like brake pedal tip, gas cap and most likely the oil catch can kit. image.jpg image.jpg image.jpg

Does anyone have the part number for the rear brake lever?
Was going to find and order through TrooperLu's but it seems they have taken everything Husky off their internet site.

If I can get a P/N I'll order a few from Hall's.
Lost the front at Supermoto and twisted the lever and mangled my ZipTy tip :(

Trooper Lu's don't do Husky anymore, they switched to Yamaha. Grab the parts fiche off Halls site and get the part number from that.

I did the same thing, but just the tip. I was able to bend the stocker back into a useable position with some bolts through it as the "tip"

On my brand new 89$ oem pedal I have decided to powder coat her black and use a hammerhead folding lever tip, and a brake snake, with a thick bicycle tube around it. All the protection it can get, it needs.

I have snagged it twice and I don't even ride the dirt much...

Yeh I knew they started with Yamahas but I thought they might have still had after sales support for their Husky customers.

Just thought someone may have had the part number handy.

I thought of a brake snake but it wouldn't have helped me. The lever twisted so that the tip faced down instead of being horizontal.

I'm going to order a few of them and most probably some more of your Billet tips Tinken as they are a great mod and I'm bound to drop the bike again at some stage.
