As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.
When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.
Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.
Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.
Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.
Thanks for your patience and support!
Any idea of where I can find one?
wow. a broken speedo means a new ECU? keys? ....and a speedo?? sheesh- that totally sounds like a BMW deal.

It's a quick swap, I'm not using any of the other parts- so if anyone has any ideas and wants the remains have at it!
I always wondered though, if the Nuda parts could be substituted as there is still a good 2.hand supply in Europe.
The TR650 dash is identical to the Nuda dash. The M button and the Map I & II in the LCD are the giveaway.
I can tell you this- when the dashboard is unplugged from the bike, it'll turn over but will not start. As others have pointed out it's a "coded part" that is VIN specific. Now, it may just be the immobilizer that is keeping it from running- and could just be that item which gets coded in that assembly...I don't know. I read a post somewhere (on CH) regarding the removal of the immobilizer. May be worth a shot? I'll try starting my bike once the replacement dash shows up just to see what happens- but I'm guessing nil!

Am i right in saying a replacement unit from Trailtech will not work?
I wonder if a full ignition, speedo and Fi system from another bike can be transplanted on the TR650 then tuned with a power commander to fuel the bike correctly. Thoughts?
Transplanting a fully coded ECU+dash+key from another TR will work, no need for FI components etc.
..."Piggybacking" a non-genuine/ un-coded unit might well mean removing at least some of the input/ output signals to the factory unit, which in return
will stop the communication with the ECU = bike is dead.....
