    As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

    When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

    Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

    Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

    Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Brembo Clutch Master Cap/Seal Leak

We have two brand new TE 310's and it's becoming a challenge trying to keep the clutch fluid reservoir from leaking at the cap/seal joint. Bike 1 clutch release failed during the first ride off the showroom floor, and bike 2 started leaking at the 140 mile mark.

Bike 1's cap seal was replaced immediately and is seeping fluid again at 45 miles.

Bike 2's cap clutch perch was flooded with fluid during a long hard rocky ride, and after wiping it clean, did not show signs of leaking after a gentle ride. I purchased a cap seal as a standby.

Does anybody have any expertise on fluid type or knowledge of this wacky condition??

Open to any thoughts.....

They are designed to burp fluid if the reservoir is too full. One thing that helped me (on the 630) was running the fluid pretty darn low in the reservoir.

The tear could be from over tightening the cap. It doesn't need to be all that tight; just snug.
 
Thanks, I went to a KTM dealer and got a replacement cap/seal for Brembo and all is well now. Seems to be a factory assembly flaw.
Dealer warranty is not an option since he wanted to keep the bike there for a week!
I'm aware of over tightening and warping the lid.
$27.00 us fixed it.
