    As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

    When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

    Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

    Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

    Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

I just pulled the trigger on a 2011 Husaberg FE570. i've been researching these bikes
for a while and looked at an older 550 last week. Thank god I didn't buy it as it would've been
a bad decision. Anyway, I happen to find a 2011 570 locally here in Roseville with only 300 miles
on it. Basically brand new with every upgrade and farkle there is to buy. FMF Factory 4.1 slip on,
Scott's Steering Stabilizer, an aftermarket gas tank that replaces the plastic sub frame and the list
goes on. Billet everything. I'm really excited to take her out in the dirt tomorrow. I'll give a
comparitive evalution to my 511 once I've got a little riding time on it. Judging from the minimal
around the block a couple times that I've done this bike is powerfull but not as snappy as the 511.
The wide ratio tranny is one of the main reasons I fell in love with the Berg and I haven't even
seen what it can do yet. I'll give a more indepth comparison later but I wiil say that from first
impressions the 511, or my 511 at least, feels like it's got more immediate punch. The G2
Quick turn throttle may be the reason. This Husa actually has a G2 Throttle tamer which can be
switched out with any other G2 cam.

Im always amazed at the guys that farkle the livin hell out of their machines, to not even put a scratch on them then sell them......one of our crew got his 09 Kato 250 stupidly blinged out with a box of even more bling the guy rode it like 3x......not even a scratch on it had to have spent 3k plus in stuff.....amazing. Anyway its a cool machine you have there. enjoy the ride, in 08 I actually met some of the Swedes responsible for that machine, super cool to talk with them.
 
Yup i agree only bling it if its broken or an actual improvment.
Love the 70• inclined head, beautiful bike now THRASH IT!
 
Nice. I LOVE those bikes. Spent a few hundred miles on a FE390 and rode the 450 and 570 too. Sweet bikes.
 
The 570 is the pick of the inclined engine models. It get the best benefit of the weight centralization
 
I took the Berg out for a nice dual sport ride over the weekend. The motor is very impressive. It has got
a ton of power but it's got a very smooth delivery. You can wheelie at will in damn near every gear if you
want to. The FI is flawless. No flameouts or hickups at all. The transmission is geared exactly how a big bore
dualsport should be. Reminds me of my old 610. It will easily top 100 mph but I had it up to 80 on Sat and was
starting to get the high speed wobbles.
The bike has an FMF Factory 4.1 muffler on it, which is the best that FMF offers,I think, but the motor doesn't
have that deep throaty tone that my 511 has. In fact the sound kinda reminds me of my old 610. Probably has something
to do with the SOHC vs DOHC. My 511 has the dual cams and both the Husa 570 and TE610 have a single overhead cam.
In the dirt the Husa handles pretty good. My 511 handles better but I haven't touched anything on the Husa yet as far
as set up goes. Once I get the sag set correct and everything else dialed I'll have a better feel for how she handles in the dirt.
I have to say that having my forks on the 511 redone with the Race Tech springs and Gold valves made such a huge difference in how the bike handles.
It's really easy to ride and just handles so well off road.
The Berg has a controll switch on the bars for three different map settings. The guy who sold me the bike said that he never took it off of the
standard setting so when I test rode it it was on the standard map setting. It's got 0~L~H. O is what it was on when I got it. About an hour into my
ride on Sat I realized that I had not tried any of the other settings so I stopped and shut it off and switched it to "H". You can instantly notice
a differnce but it's not until you get on the road that you can really experience it. The standard setting is more than enough for the dirt, though.
The Berg has a G2 Throttle Tamer. He said it smoothed out the power some. I've got the quick turn throttle on my 511 and love what it did to the
throttle response, I'm wondering what would happen if I switched cams.
Anyway, here's a clip from Saturday's ride. It's actually a fairly rugged,long climb after crossing the bridge.
