• Hi everyone,

As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Thanks for your patience and support!

BORCS 15DEC2012 Tecate zona BC Mex

Looks like we may not be "in" this one. There is another for fun hard trail ride taking place on the same day and my whole crew is interested in going to the trail ride.

OK looks it may be ON AGAIN!! waiting for word from the players. We are going to this event just south of Tecate BC Mex. Rancho El Chale, transponders for this one.

1st 50 open, 3rd OA. The 310 is an amazing machine, even in it's blackhead TE form. Will check results to get a better count (but it was not alot of guys for this one, SW folks are afraid of rain)
Perfect conditions, arrived in drizzling rain with hard rain the night before, some sections remended me of NE zone, lichen covered granite under oak trees with the trail snaking through. The new location well was new, the course loop was little less long than at the other race site and in my opinion a slightly less tuff rating. They still managed to throw in some wicked rock sections as well as a really fun sandy riverbed (super fun with all the rain). I forgot how good traction can be. The 2011 TE310 did me right again, no stops, mousses with FIM rubber worked great on the slippery rocks and I'm stoked I used my Eks brand goggles with roll offs, the roll offs were the ticket for clear vision cruising!! 3 race series 3 P1s in 50+ open class (not too much A class competition to be truthfull, but I'm still happy for the finishes). My ZipTy racing suspension was great in the sharp rocks of the side slope section, keeping me on the line and not down the side of the hill or in some cases falling off the big wet rock slabs.

Photos I took (you guys know that's rare for me). The conditions were perfect. The last Kato foto is Ivan Ramirez on his RedBull KTM450. The course was epic.

PS I got there very early, the race photos are from the PM open pro/ex race, we did the old guy loop in the AM they added an extra tuff uphill section for the PM race. The slide shows bits of the course and rain in the early AM prerace.

another of those tall but slightly built, very mild and courteous sort of young guys that shred.;)

note On the following weekend we were invited back to the rancho El Chale for a fun ride day and carne asada taco BBQ, we did a couple of laps on the AM (old guy loop) then rode the rest of the day on the long course with no issues, they had a great multi line to separate the riders rocky climb then a long hill section that was filled with drop offs and some tough rocky stuff, it was a great loop but I understood why they sent us on the short course, with the ammies it would have been carnage up there.
