• Hi everyone,

As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Thanks for your patience and support!

Bogo City racing 2013

Racing is pretty much been the word the last 2 weeks ... Mindanao (Kopiko SX) was on the schedule and worked out OK but I'm not recommending it. Sogod town racing happened a few days later with few pics due to camera issues and then this Bogo City 2013 race happened ...

You'll notice only the 08 WR250 2t in the pics ... I got belly sick and could not ride ... Age 55 is not a banner yr yet for physical fitness for me ... This age might be another step-down on the downward side that is occurring to all of us .....

All pics are with my local rider Ayen on board ... He loves the 2T bikes and racing ...

The no-frills, 08 WR250 arrives at the track ..Tied down with BMP straps purchased in 2003 :) .. Thanks Bill! You said you thought the straps might last a long time ...

Some track pics ... That is buckshot dirt for the few who might know the term ... yep, they just get a flat piece of ground and start making jumps ... :0)

I gotta say seeing Ayen stick this Husky out front in this races or battling another rider till the checkered is waved, is quite a thrill for me ...bigger thrill than watching a horse come down the home stretch with my money on his nose ...

See that huge cement building in the background? The new City Hall building ... And Whoops!

That little blue truck was what lead the parade of MX dirt bikes through downtown Bogo City as a last chance effort to alert the people of todays race ... I always like this aspect of 100% support by the GOV leaders here. They love seeing a foreigner here also ...

Starting straight away...102_4439.JPG

The Husky heading to the starting gate and some crowd ...

Here's a better shot of the lead blue parade truck ... I didn't really pay attention to any of this as my gut was hurting at this time but one of those riders in the back is one of the Filipino movie stars here ... Forget his name but he rides and comes out from time to time for the PUB and endorsements ... He is very approachable just like everyone else here ... Maybe I'll ask him if he wants to ride one of my bikes at a race someday ... And thats my good friend James in the foreground ... He's continuing to get faster and faster on his 450 ...

Proof this place is moving up from 3rd world type status ... 102_4462_2.jpg

Ayen on his way off the track and back to the pits.102_4484.JPG

Here a shot from inside the starting gate over Ayens and John-John Flores shoulders ... John is one of their very fast PRO riders here ...Very exciting to see him ride and the crowd is with this guy ... Due to the lack of riders here today, Ayen rides in this class that is over his head really as a gesture for the promoters ... Just another day of dirt bike racing here ...

This is a cool photo series here of a moto as it unfolded ....

Here are all the riders hitting the first turn after the gate drops ... #14 is the ~PRO class rider of the field, #23 is my good friend Rousel, and Ayen is hitting the berm ...
102_4517.JPG

Over the first jump, you can see the PRO rider out front, Rousel, in second after his tight spin at the pivot point, and Ayen railed the berm and in third on the outside carrying some speed...
102_4518.JPG

Here is a shot of the riders placement after they have gone out and back ... PRO out front, Ayen in 2nd place looking for traction, and Rousel in 3rd followed by a guy on a honda 250crf x (I think)
102_4519.JPG

The race is on now! Rousel has dropped back to 4th, the PRO is gone, and the 08 WR250 runs 2nd and has a fancy honda 250 4t machine very close :) ... Ayen lives for this and again, like the true racer he is, blows this guy away in this specific spot on the track in this pic and finishes 2nd ... I got some pics of it as it all played out .. Nothing much better seeing a battle unfold with a Husky leading the way ...They must have went 4-5 laps very close together ...
102_4520.JPG

They ran about like this for a few laps ... The honda guy was doubling a place Ayen was not and that was keeping him close
102_4522.JPG102_4523.JPG

And then this action started ... I'm not sure the honda guy ever cleared this small double but Ayen was just ripping the clutch on his 250 Husky off that berm and got the speed to clear this one and get a slight bigger lead on this lap ...Not much but a ding was made on the japan bike and rider.
102_4525.JPG

Still that honda would not go away till this sequence ...

Setup to the starting line corner I've standing at taking all these pics ...
102_4531.JPG

He came out of corner like a real PRO with some heavy clutch and throttle action ... He went by me almost vertical and just said to myself "I hope he makes it" ... He way over jumped but brought the front down some how ... I was aiming the camera up here and really lucky that the bike is in the picture ...102_4532.JPG

The guy never came up to him again after that corner ...
102_4533.JPG

Then you get to finish up on the easy side ...
