• Hi everyone,

As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Thanks for your patience and support!

Craig is a friend of mine, he is a fast off road guy and fast motocrosser. His team finished 3rd in class 22 at the baja 1000 last year, he was probably cruising there at the end.

Great job out there, wish I was able to join you guys.

Later,
Ah............ I wondered what happened after he built the big lead. Lots of the MX guys were falling by the wayside, but sounds like not the case for him...
hell he looked like he wasnt even trying the first lap and he already had 30 seconds lead by then.

Craig dude is very fast. :notworthy:

I would like to get a "shout-out" to BillF owner of BMP Husqvarna of Salem, OR and Lonny aka oregonsage, for organizing the "unofficial" Team Husqvarna NW race event. It was great to see a pack of Huskys in the pit and overall we showed pretty well. The course was pretty challenging for me with deep ruts, deep loam, rocks and bolders, creek crossings and dark shaded areas under the trees which make it very hard to see and a little bit of dusk. I rode 50B and started in 5th or so and worked my up to to 1st by the time we hit the open grass fields (national mx parking area). Then shit started to happen when we went back into the treed trails. Cant remember the exact sequence of events but they included the following; one 2nd gear "endo" after trying to go around 3 or 4 stalled riders in a deep rut section and hitting a large downed tree trunk, one fall going over the bolder section. There was a way to go completely around them which I did not see until the last lap. (No comments from the peanut gallery please), one fall in a deep rut when I was too out of position on the bike to lift the front wheel over a nasty tree root which I knew was there and cleared previously. One low speed get-off when I hit the guy in front of me who stalled it in a deep uphill rut, one case of overjuming the last jump on the MX course before exiting onto the trail section (I ride Washougal MX occasionally and we NEVER take a right there!!). My front wheel actually cleared the banners on the far side of the track but my back wheel caught the ribbon which had to be extracated (once again no comments please) and finally there were a couple of minor incidents like killing my engine and being plum tuckered out from picking my bike up off the ground! As always my WR/CR 250 Husqvarna performed flawlessly and were it not for it's knucklehead pilot, would have finished better than 7th for the day.

Yes, it was a challenging course and strong competition.... thanks for showing up and thanks for the pat on the back Bono.
