  • Hi everyone,

As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Thanks for your patience and support!

Bitten by the bug....

So I am apparently entering a midlife crisis LOL!! as I have just picked up an '83 250xc that is in decent shape, with the exception that it needs a clutch cover, was cracked and the guy tried to repair it with JB weld.....anyone know of a good source for used parts? . That means I now have a '79 250 OR, '82 250xc and now the '83 250xc parked in the garage. The '79 is waiting for the PowerDynamo ignition to arrive, the '82 is in all original condition (less the tires) that I just raced back in October, and now I have the '83 which will get the full treatment, frame stripped and painted, tank re-shoot, all new plastic and suspension will go to WER for a work over. What's wrong with me?

You need couple more!

You can get one of HVA clutch covers through DC plastics.
Nice aluminum ones that not gonna crack.

"You need couple more!"
You my sir are an enabler! I can tell we are going to get along just fine! LOL!! I will probably go for the shiny new cover, just need to find some extra funds....:)

Yeah, think all us guys are bike broke.

Ebay, right now is priced way above board.

Also, look through craigslist ads. Some guys have bikes apart trying to sell whole.
I have had luck contacting them to by like 2-3 of the parts. So try that.
I got an alloy tank for $100 plus clutch cover for $50 and kicker for $25 going that rate.
Then told the guy to part rest out.
