  • Hi everyone,

As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Thanks for your patience and support!

Bike won't start after dropped in little amount of water

Husqvarna
Hey was wondering if any one could help on what I should do, dropped my bike In water not too deep picked it up lights and dash working but when I press the kill switch to get the fuel pump to work so it will start and it doesn't make the usual noise and doesn't even turn over if anyone could help would like to get it goin before the weekend cheers

I have a serious water problem myself. On mine, the starter continues to work, and crank the bike, but the bike will only start in fits and bits. This is after just riding thru deep water or washing the bike with a power washer. Had the problem now 2 years, can't figure it out.

Here's my test vid, I sprayed the spark plug and the gear position sensor to rule those 2 items out.

Sorry mate can't help you with that mine doesn't even wind over but still have power to the lights and dash and also can't kick it because I need the fuel pump to be working think it might be the killswitch

If it's fuel injected get your motorbike shop to plug it in to there computer and it should come up with error codes they can read

Great update...I only wish my 2 year problem was as easy to fix as this......:banghead:

This should not be hard to find at all. I second the plugging in diagnostics to see what the issue is. If it coughs and studders it would likely be running lean, so check the injector is pulsing at startup. Check fuel pressure.

Fuel, compression, air, and properly timed ignition.

Try squirting some fuel in the throttle body to see if it runs and fires up healthy.

Did not realize F.I. bikes had diagnostic capability. Anyone know if my 2013 TC 250R has this feature??

My two cents on starting problems. Continues to crank = short circuit or sticking button or relay. Not sure if I understood the symptom completely? Or just got my head up my as.:-)

Rode a Beta one time. Liked it but the feeling on the bike and the power band was a bit odd feeling to me. Not bad just very different.

Huskylove ,
