  • Hi everyone,

As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Thanks for your patience and support!

250-500cc Big Rear Brake for the WR 250/300

ajaxauto

Husqvarna
Pro Class
I have seen many people complain about the small rear brake that over heats on the WR 250/300
All the Husky bikes from the Cr 125 up to the 511 have the same size bigger rear brakes then the WR 250/300.
On my bike which I got from Zip Ty Racing which was the magazine test bike that raced the 2 stroke Nationals Ty had made a custom rear caliper braket. You can then still run your stock caliper BUT you then can install a bigger rear rotor from a newer Husky. You can also mount it direct to the hub.Now gone is the floating rotor with the bushing that make noise and wear out.
The new brakets will come with a custom shark fin to protect the rotor
The price will be $99.95
Need to see if there is a demand out there if so will run a order of 20 units to start
Here is a picture of mine which was a early one and has no shark fin The new ones will have the fin

Price of the Braket and shark fin is 99.95 Jeff at Halls has the rotor 217 789 0107 or any local Husky dealer could get you a price on the oem rotor

After I rode my 300 with the bigger brakes I ordered one for my WR 250 which I had always had trouble with the rear brake

Is the rear caliper bracket going to be one piece with the shark finn where the axle goes through the whole unit???
Something similar to the Enduro Engineering rear disc guard and caliper mount???
If you can post up a photo of what you have in mind I'll probably be up for it too.
Let us know
Cheers

Shark fin will bold onto the caliber braket That way you can always change it if you ever hit it hard enought to damage it.There are some picture of other ones he has made at www.ziptyracing.com
The new one will loks like these

Thanks for the reply.
It looks like a very nice bit of gear.
Put me down for one as well.
I can only imagine how good the bigger rear disc would be.
Cheers
David
