  • Hi everyone,

As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Thanks for your patience and support!

better off leaving it dirty

thanks everybody for all the tips/info, ghte.. the oem battery is back in the bike but I will check the shorai battery. Dropped the bike off at the dealer today to get it looked over and the first service checkup that was in the sales deal. Should have it back sometime next week, they are assemblying my SM setup while its there also so hopefully there's a double helping of big smiles again when I get her back in running order, very very curious to what part failed if any and will definitely keep everyone posted.

With my 2011 TE310 it was the Temperature sensor on the back of the head that was the culprit.
Also I use a Turntech 4ah Lithium battery with no issues or problems.
Cold engine won't start when brain thinks it should be hot because of a faulty temp sensor.
Try disconnecting and try starting with electric start and partial throttle.
Should grumble and pop a bit but it should start.
Then replace the temp sensor. It's covered under the 2 year warranty anyway so no cost.
Just heard from the dealer..thats exactly what it is that caused the problem. They replaced it under warranty, I asked for an extra one just to keep on the shelf. Extra dielectric grease on that sensor for sure.

Hi
Had this problem twice 1st time after washing My Te 310 took it back to dealer sorted it under warranty. He manage to start it by disconecting temp sensor.
2nd time I was on the Isle of Mann stopped for lunch came to start it, did not want to know but this time new what the problem was try disconecting sensor still not start so drained a small amount of fuel from mates tank remove seat tipped it over filter replaced seat started once warm ran ok just don't let it go cold. As i had no spare had to do the same the next morning but at least i was able to do all of the riding we had planed. Now carry spare free one from dealer. Greased plug and put insulation tape over it as the seal is rubbish. Not had a problem with temp sensor since.

Sorry i did not see this post earlyer.
