• Hi everyone,

As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Thanks for your patience and support!

BETA, NICK BURSON WIN VEGAS TO RENO

They won by just 6 seconds over Bell and Pearson. That is some great racing!

That's such BS, I don't know why you "in the know" people keep teasing us lol. How about, start a new screen name and tell us ;)

If you haven't heard Nick Burson and his partner Justin Morrow won the longest off road race in USA last saturday put on by BITD. Racing from Vegas to Reno 550 miles of rough desert. They rode their Purvines' sponsored factory Beta 498RR in a flawless race leading from start to finish. With an average speed of 61 MPH over the 550 mile course with 14 pits with one back tire change and one air filter change. Only one tip over and lots of close calls. Their Factory Beta 498RR ran flawlessly and the six speed transmission gave them the speed they needed to get out front and lead this race from start to finish. They not only beat all the bikes but beat the race cars too. Team Beta Nick and Justin finished the race in 9 Hrs, one minute and 58.577 seconds. First race car finished 9 Hrs, 13 minutes and 10.649 seconds. This is a big win for Nick and Justin and shows the Beta 498RR is top contender in the off road market. Keeping a bike running for over 9 hours at speeds of 100 mph plus is hard to do and this shows the quality put into every Beta off road bike. This was a big team effort as it takes up to 15 people to man the pits. A huge undertaking for Collin Woolsey our team mechanic/race coordinator. A huge expense for our sponsor Ron Purvine of Country Estate Planning. Nick and Justin want to thank all who help and appreciate the support of Ron Purvine and Collin Woolsey.

Ajaxauto (John) I hope you are right and Husky does sponsors a team for 2014. There are lots of good off road racers out there looking for rides. As for us we found a home with Ron Purvines and Beta and are looking at many years of racing with them. One thing is for sure Husky will have to revamp their off-road bikes to compete. You can't do it on TC449 or a TXC310R. It would be good for the off road racing comunity if they do compete. See you at Panaca. :)

Our local SoCal SD county fast kid/ nice kid, Justin Morgan pulls a 4th OA with his teammate!! Just in case anyone is looking for an all around fast off road moto pilot (he finished the last dog standing as well and won the tecate HS ironman class on YZ125)

Race was super fast!! Team ran out of gearing on KX450 quite often. Had a Husky 6speed there, but it sat in back of truck. Kawi ran perfectly all day for a 3rd in over 30 expert. Changed filter twice and ran on same Maxxis IT back tire with mousse for entire race.. Both are trashed now.
