• Hi everyone,

As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Thanks for your patience and support!

Beta 300 Trainer.

I would love one of these. Had it been available when I got my 250RR, I probably would've got this instead. Being able to put my feet down easier is a plus. I'm getting to the point where I can keep my balance pretty well to not dab, but every now and then it would be nice to not fall because I couldn't touch the ground. I don't fall as much in tricky situations with my MR250 Elsinore because I can touch the ground on it.

Also it is amazing how much better a lower bike handles.

I agree with john01 and the reality I bet is I could buy a 2001 Kawasaki Kdx 200 and probably ride it just as fast for and entire race then a new $8000 bike all this and saving $6800. In 92 I tried a new Kdx 200 for the whooping sum of $2999 brand new! The first day I rode it I put 140 miles on it! Best darn 3k I ever spent! And without forums to read no hype or worry like I have with these 4cs forks......lol

A lower bike may handle nice. At 5'7 on the short side I'll take the taller bike and the additional ground clearance and taller foot peg height. If in doubt just gas it....

I still can't see a bike like this being suited to the efficient trail bike rider but more suited to as the name suggests

Agreed, they might sell more if you didn't need 34+ inches of leg to reach the ground comfortably on level ground; not to mention any unevenness of terrain one might encounter.

wow I want this bike....

So....better pay off the 511 and make a move? :) sell the 125 for what I paid and move on?

I'm looking for something smaller to ride in the woods, and thought this looked like a good option for me too, also 5'7". My buddies called it a girls bike and one of them said it was for bunny trails. Now I have to buy one and kick his ass on it

I had a couple of KDX 220's. They were good at one time, but they don't compare to a modern bike.

Could happen. I am having zero issues keeping my position in the pecking order when I ride my AJP PR5. Its not supposed to be a full fledged bike but in many respects out does the "race" bikes for normal riding.

Yea I dont like the old style geometry. I have a 2000 cr125 that runs like a raped ape and I actually do not like it at all. I thought I would like the position and how it handles and what not, but I just cant get into for a dirt noobie. I find myself too slow to stay on the pipe all the damn time. I am also too poor for this beta but I swear this bike was made for me <3

No doubt. I have a KLX250s that I practice on. It's similar in size and power to a PR5 and I can run full pace on it on a good day. Good handling and smooth power make a difference. I've been thinking about building something custom just to run hare scrambles because I struggle with a large bike in the tight stuff. I just don't know what to start with.

Zomby start with a PR5, add hand protection, and gas :D. Or if you are a 2-stroke guy this Beta looks sweet!
