  • Hi everyone,

As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Thanks for your patience and support!

hey whats the options and best pipe protection?

ive got a 2009 WR 250 with a new Procircuit platnium 2 chamber / silencer and having trouble ordering a pirie performance carbon guard also know as P3 (not answering emails)

the hyde version doesn't work with the Procircuit platnium 2 chamber

anyone got a P3 for sale?
any other options?

Give Whipps Alloy a call Anth, they are the the sturdiest guard i've used, baulky but super strong...problem is they may not be in the husky market so it may be a made to order.
Also B&B Offroad up Ballarat way use to make stainless steel pipe cages but it's probably a made to order now.

I had a carbon guard..one smack on a rock sent that to the bin...l'm looking at making my own guard using fibreglass, sheetmetal and then a layer of carbon fibre ( I get bored easy lol) when the new expansion chamber comes in.

Hall's sending to OZ Anth is hassle free...ordered a rebuild kit for the marzocchi's and new fork caps...hate to say but 80% cheaper than local!!

I'm surprised at Whipps but l guess they cater for the popular market - l wouldn't be surprised if the KTM250 fits the WR250.

i got a whipps guard to suit 09 pipe, i am selling as it doesnt fit my 2010pipe grrr, so pissed bout that.

I have trouble spending the price of a pipe on a guard so I bought one of those $30 aluminum armadillos and the first two minutes of the first ride after putting it on I hit a rock hidden in leaves on a 3rd gear downhill and crashed hard in a bed of rocks. Broken rocks were ground in the pipe guard and major scratches in my body armor but nothing on the bike or me was hurt. $30 well spent

Wasted my money on a Hyde and waited 3 weeks for delivery, got it home, put it on and it aint even close!

Why didnt I do my research on here first!!!

Im thinking of going out there and making it fit with 10m of tie wire!

Stu

I have had P3 on both my KX250 and WR150 and they both fit like a glove. I crash tested the one on the KX250 a few times on rocks and it has held up great with no damage to the pipe.
