  • Hi everyone,

    As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

    When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

    Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

    Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

    Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Perhaps posting up the details of your deal may help others to be more willing to share this information. Just giving you some advice when asking for others to share their personal financial transaction information on a public forum.

..have deal pending at $7K OTD. Haven't found any better price but keep hearing they are out there. If out of my area then also have to consider shipping so would need the be significantly below current deal to be good.
 
Mine was 6200 + all the fees and junk which ended up at about 7100 including 6.25% sales tax,registration, etc. Got a 225 'credit' off that to buy stuff from the dealership.

Sounds like you're getting a good deal.
 
Hey Danny appreciate the reply. How u like the bike and have you made any mods right out of the gate?
 
I got my 2012 last October for $7200 that's $7700 out the door. It is a fantastic bike. My advise is to do no mods until you have at least 500 miles on the bike. It will run very hot at first but it will get better with every ride. Give it time to break in.

The bike is way nicer than anything I've ever had. So far so good but only done about 100 miles.

I got the JD tuner already, but I didn't have any issues with 'flame outs' or anything before installing it. It does pull a bit harder with it though.

Other than that I got a nice moose racing fender bag for the rear fender so I can carry some tools and registration, etc. Thats nice to have.

Got the seat concepts seat on the way too.

Got a 49t rear sprocket but didn't install it yet, not much difference anyways.

Other than that just looking for places to ride!
 
As a comparsion to Europe, I bought mine last week for corresponding $9700 from parallell import. Swedish retailers wants $11940!
So you guys should feel lucky to get a 449 for 7k or less....
