  • Hi everyone,

    As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

    When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

    Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

    Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

    Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

So I dropped in a snipe bid with th a max of 500.00 and I got it for 470.21 shipped! I was blown away! That 's the OEM 144 kit plus a new FMF Fatty and silencer! So guess I'll send this 144 cylinder out to Walt and have it converted to make my new 165 small bore. Pull the 125 stuff off with stock pipe and silencer and save it.

Man, that's a score! Looking forward to spring now as I'll have a new little screamer to go along with the 300 and 525!
 
A lot of guys will pull the 125 top end and install the 144 then send me the 125. Doesn't make much difference to me but the 144 might have more value down the road. I do know some riders like the 125 more than the 144 simply because the 125 is softer/easier on the bottom. Might get some more input from the tiddler Husky crowd here. You got a screaming deal non the less.
 
Yeah, I am still grinning! Walt, that sounds like a good idea. I won't have the bike for about 10 days or so. Figure I'll go ahead and pull it down now and do this over the winter. Will get back with you once I have a firm timeline! Assume you would take my 125 cylinder as a core? Can you pm me what I would need to send you and what the cost Would be?

Id ride it standard then throw fatty on with 125 see how it goes - then throw 144 on
 
keep 144 send 125 off. sell oem piston kit, pipe & silencer for $170. whack fmf gear on with 144 & use that slug up then 165 it. only $300 now!
 
Got the parts yesterday as the seller is only 1 state away. Nicely packed and as advertised! Brand spanking new in the OEM boxes. Bike should be here by mid November as I am having them not ship it to me yet, I gotta go out of town next week for work till the 7th. Gonna be a fun little ripper. Last Husky 125 I had was a 94 WXE! Been awhile. Berg 300 will get lonely ;)
