• Hi everyone,

As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Thanks for your patience and support!

Bark Busters

I have Zeta's and quite like them. The suit the look of the bike better than most of the others do.

thanks for the replies gang! i liked the cyrcas but it wasnt that big of a hit that broke em layed it down in sand ( but i had layed it down a couple other times to before it happened) kinda sent visions of mangled fingers through my head if i ever did hit something at speed

I have the Cyrca "Center Reach Mounts" types- and they have taken alot of hits- they remain secure. What type or model of cyrca's do you have that broke, or what broke?
gotta pic?

I think any full-wrap-around handguards that have been suggested would work great... much comes down to how they are mounted and if you properly install them by bending them on the bench to fit the bars prior to installation. You dont' want to bolt them to the bars with pressure so that the spring apart after hitting something.

I've got the Cycra pro bends that mount to the bars (traditional mounting) along with the BRP threaded bar end dealio. My only complaint is a big one.... the aluminum twists too easy. I've had to put the aluminum wrap-arounds into the vice and reshape it to fit quite a few times. If they'd use better quality material then I'd be exstatic about them.

I've also had Acerbis Rally Pro's and they were quite strong, but the design of them caused my fingers to rub along the bottom of the plastic shield and wear a hole my gloves, which then rubbed on my skin and hurt.

Not sure what to try next. I'd like to use a triple clamp mount system, but I hear it can damage the triples in a big wreck.

pretty sure i have the probends too, sorry no pics yet. mine broke were they conect in teh middle of the bars on teh connector itself, not the bar section. but looking at the cyrca website it looks like they have differnt connectors now. hard to say what im goin to get next too

ok appologies to cyrca....i apparently have moose bars with cyrca plastic gaurds on em....didnt remember wth they were. i bought them when i got the bike.

Well then I recomend Cyrca CRMs. :D

But seriously- all mentioned are good handguards- maybe yours took just the right hit- see if you can just replace the mount that broke.

+ 1 on the Moose ones and then we just use the Cycra covers and drill and tap them.

i think it broke jsut because they have the holes drilled in the mounts, cracked rite through the center hole. im sure they arent junk lol like i said ive layed er down a few times too but just thought it was kinda weird when it broke it wasnt too hard of hit at all

got the busters fixed, i picked up some replacement enduro enginering connectors. saved me about a hundo  ill jsut have to stop bein so ruff on em lol
