• Hi everyone,

As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Thanks for your patience and support!

Baja 1000 15x Husky

If you don't see the bike on the start it's because Jim Owens was prerunning on the other side of the summit. Hi speed sandwash hit a big rock from what I've heard something like a dislocated hip. Was taken out in a prerun car and is now in a Hospital in San Diego.
His team members I've heard might not race don't know.
Mike Kay and Rob Barnum are racing in class 40 401X I think is their #. One of their riders hit a cow pre running night before last and is also jacked up, don't know how bad probably won't ride tho.
Other team member forget his name but has a web site www.rsenalracing.com I think will have tracking on that site under the GPS Tracking heading. Worth looking at tomorrow.
Sorry thats all the info Somewhat confirmed at this point.
Later George

Oh man...I hope Jim is OK! :( Any info as far as what hospital he's in or ??

Any idea what rider was on board for Mike's team? I hope Mike is Ok, too!

Please let us know if you have any info...

Thanks for the update/info George. Man that sucks big time, hope JimO is ok. GPS tracker for 401x is working, so hopefully their rider is ok to go.

Just got off the phone with JimO's brother. Jim tagged a rock in a high speed wash on Tuesday and dislocated his hip. Was taken to San Diego hospital where they set it, and it sounds like he has been up and around for the last day or so, and may actually be back in Mexico now to watch the race. The rest of 15x decided to go ahead and race. Maybe on the Husky, maybe on a Kawi. That's all the info I got, but good news is that JimO isn't too banged up.

I didn't get any info on the 401x team of Rob and Mike Kay.

Just heard over weatherman radio that 15x is broken down and out.

edit. update. 15x is fixed and back in the race!!!:applause:
