• Hi everyone,

As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Thanks for your patience and support!

B1K Class 22 #10X

JimO

Husqvarna
AA Class
Were signed up in Class 22 we have 2 young riders on the team this year. It's shaping up to be a fast team. ROR is Dennis Hannel and are riding a Husky TE 510. We signed up under his CRF450x because Husky had a fuel pump problem but should be all ready to go for race day.

If anyone here is planning on racing or wanting to go down to prerun, please let me know before hand so we can connect. It's always better in numbers.

C ya Jim.

haha, hi, my name is steve, we have no money, hardly any resources, but alot of determination! lets definitly hook up, maybe we can help each other somehow. 5x

Thanks Coffee, Robertaccio, Ruffus, for the thumbs up, still working on the 510's EFI you know how racing is, we're doing the Last Minute Louie thing.

Knevo are you guys riding a Husky?
C ya Jim

Never mind, the excel spread sheet I found was for the Tecate enduro

Getting initial reports that 500x (Jim O'Neal) crashed out. Waiting confirmation.

No crash... Valve problems. Bike won't start. They have to keep it running.

They'll try to fix at next major pit

(I'm with Andy Kirker in La Paz... the last rider for 500X)

Hmm a Honda with valve problems.....

Is it possible for Jim O’Neal to be on 2 bikes in this race?

He is listed for both 500x and 618x... and initially in this thread he mentioned being in class 22 not class 50...

Anxiously awaiting updates :)

EDIT - ok, I am getting my "Jim O's" mixed up. Is Jim O’Neal a member of cafe husky?

I don't see any reports of 408x making it through any checkpoints. Any one else see anything on 408x?

10x looks to be making pretty good time though. :applause:

I've been following the various sites quite closely.

No word on 408x making it anywhere.

What I have for persons of possible interest so far are these (still not quite sure is 500x / 618x is a member, fuzzy day for me).. I will try to sort through the list for possible husqvarnas soon.

5x
check point 1 - 846am
check point 2 - 953am

10x
check point 1 - 848am
check point 2 - 954am

305x
check point 1 - 853am
check point 2 - 1001am

5X are on a CRF450X. In case you were wondering if they were on a Husky or not.
And a few of the riders are friends of mine.

Go 5X :applause:

10x is JimO from the Cafe, my complete error in reference.
As for the 408X Barnum/Kay TE610, nothing other than the hearsay post.

side note, I just hope/trust Barnum is a good crankshaft builder, my "new" TXC crank is from Barnums pro shop.

Understand that 5x is not a husky, but at least one of them are members of cafe husky. :)

To be clear, Jim O’Neal is not a member of cafe husky or otherwise a person of interest? If not I'll stop typing updates.

What seems to be happening is this:
  • race-desert has the weatherman feeds, and seems to focusing on the non-bikes, or at least there is much non-bike info available.
  • TT is filtering out the non-bike information (thanks!)
  • and I am simply trying to filter out and present information that most folks on cafe husky might be interested in.
It is incredibly difficult for the casual observers to follow the race. :)

This just in: LINK
"500x (Jim O'Neal) broken and done at Percebu turn-off."

Not sure if he is a member here or not, but 10x is Jim Owens who is a member here under JimO.
