• Hi everyone,

As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Thanks for your patience and support!

Aww, sucks :(

Don't get me wrong, I think that sucks. But, it didn't look that bad to me. At least the jerk didn't run OVER your bike. Any estimates on damage?

I dunno. Lever was $22. Mirror/bar/left grip? I don't know, but I am sure they would be a lot less expensive if I decided to replace them with stock parts :).

Wow man!!! I've been a professional driver for 30yrs. now (28yrs. too long.) My wife and I watched this 4 times, and it's our humble opinion that that was intentional. He had to see it when he went by, set his flashers to let the people go by, swung a little wide, cut in tight, and even sped up a little, hit the bike and took off. I drive a concrete truck for a livin', I would love to find that car with a full load on****************************************!

Hi Woodschick... SA.

Let's get a septic tank truck with a full load for that car.

Then you can dump the cement on it right after that.:D

Again....why is everyone assuming it was a man.:excuseme:
I don't think it was intentional...I just think someone tried to back up maybe using their mirrors and misjudge. Still no excuse for not stopping and leaving their phone number...unless it was the third vehicle they hit that day.

You see these kind a drivers everyday.

I think in most cases the term "he" is a default. I don't think anyone is saying it was a man, specifically. Hardly anyone ever uses "she" if the gender is not known.

Must be a US thing.:excuseme: I guess being a bilingual country and having the French labelling everything male or female we would use they or their as to using he if gender is unknown.

Sorry.

You made me go back and check my own post, and you're right! I used 'them' rather than him or her. Maybe it is a Canadian thing?

Although, I agreed when reading the post by WoodsChick, I guess I just don't do it.

Incidentally, I get angrier every time I watch the video.:censored:

thats sucks, I would definitely contact the local PD with the video.
people like this need to be held accountable for their actions.

Go easy man...:D Remember you'll most likely be on camera too.

Right ...You never know who you are dealing with ... If this is the same person, they have already proven they are an a$$ to some unknown degree .... Go easy ..you really need to have the cops there with you as bad as that sounds ...

Have you gone to look and see if there is any damage to the rear of his car that would indicate it was he who ran over your bike?

I think this would qualify as a hit and run**************************************** You're supposed to leave your contact info at the scene....

Contact Mr Butthead, tell him he can either pay for damages or you want his insurance info now so they can pay for the damages he caused. He must give you the info. Good luck. JH
